Hi guys, first of all I´d like to say thanks to Civinator for his great work on this mod.

I´m new with this mod and I´m having a little issue here, when I try to build my 11th city, the game crashes and all I get is that window message "Civ3complete has stopped working"...


Anyone know what may be causing this??

What does the error message say? Only a windows message that it has stopped working???
Then... I don't know.
Does it happen only with this mod?
Try another game and see if it still happens.

Hi Dupz, thank you very much for your kind words about this mod :), but I only did a graphically update. All credits belong to the famous original creators of that mod, listed in post one of this thread.

What you are reporting, is one of the most nastiest things that can happen in C3C, as it can be triggered by a lot of different possibilities and there is no error message.

- Dupz, what civ did you play when you founded your 11th city?
- Do you play a Steam version of CivComplete?
- Do you have a save-file short before that crash and can you post a copy of it ?

Yes, all I got is that windows message saying it has stopped working.
And I just got the same problem using the CCM mod :(
Maybe I should try reinstaling my C3C

Dupz,as Theov posted, your English is very understandable and it is as good as my own English.:D

I asked about the civ, as in the early CCM there were crashes resulting from blanc lines in the city-list of some civs. I will have a look on the list of the Aztecs. On the other side here nothing was changed from RAR, and such crashes would have been reported during the more of ten years of RAR. More possible is a graphical issue. Additionally in one case reported (neither in RARR or CCM) such a crash resulted from the fact, that there was no combat unit buildable in that city.

You described the save-file and autosave-file in your post, so you know about these files. :) Restarting the crashed game could help to find the problem.

What sounds strange to me, that in the other crash you had in CCM, the save files were damaged, too. This was never reported by any other civer. Let´s not hope, that there is something wrong on your pc.

As you use the Steam-version, have you used the Steam-patch inside RARR for playing RARR?

Bug found on new version:
Game expects the french SPG cannon in the folder and ini file to be called "GCT_155mm" but they are in "GCT 155mm", no underscore. I added the _ to both folder and .ini and all is ok.
 
Hello! Recently I've tryed to play as Vikings. I had some fun, untill faced with the bug - Nordic Axeman NEVER enslave enemies and so there was not any Golden Age and Berserks at this game! It's seems to be the error in BIQ file. And after about 1200AD my game completelly brokes C3C, I suppose the problem was in Carthagen that was completelly killed by me, but still not dead without any cities and unit. If it matters, I could attach the SAv file.

I confirm the bug. In biq at a norse axeman in the section "Enslave Results In" it is noted nothing:

Hi jlvfr, thank you very much for reporting this error. :) You described one way to fix that error. The correct way is a fix in the pediaicons file, that will come with the next update (here the "_" between GCT and 155 mm must be removed):

Thank you very much for reporting the error about the enslave setting of the Norse axeman :) (and also a thank you very much to Node60 for confirming the error :)). That error is fixed with the next version of the RARR biq.

caslun, it seems you have run into the so-called "houseboat-bug". This is no bug of RARR, but in the programming of Civ 3. The bug was fixed by Firaxis in earlier versions of Civ 3 but returned in C3C (the same problem as it is with the submarine bug).

If you have a save-file before you have conquered the last city of Carthage, restart the game, search the ship and sink it before capturing the last city of that civ. Here are links to posts in the RARR-thread about the same problem:

While this is not connected to RaRR I get this problem while playing it and I would like to ask for some help.

I have the Steam version of Civ3. My problem is that music does not change when advancing age, always the ancient time soundtrack plays. Does anyone know how to fix this? Its getting a bit annoying I never hear my favourite modern times music :(

Hi keli, unfortunately with your Steam problem I cannot help you, as I don´t have the Steam version of Civ 3 (... and I´m very glad, that I don´t have to use that ... Steam version).

The probelm is music.txt.
RARR doesn't have music.txt, but instead of using normal music for some reason it uses music from other scenarios.

Delete or rename music.txt from "Conquests\Conquests\[scenario]\Text" and RARR wil use normal civIII music.

At least for me it happens with both steam and non steam versions. But my non steam version is yarrr.

1. What happened to Elephant Riders? I had about 30 victories on Barbarian Riders and no Slave yet.

2. Is there (or will be there) something like 915-turn version of the mod?

Hi stachnie, welcome at the Civ 3 RARR thread :band: and thank you very much for your kind words about RARR. :)

Another thank you very much for reporting an error about the setting of the Elephant Riders (and the Asian War Elephant). :) The entries of these units didn´t hold the new slave unit and therefore for these units the enslavement didn´t work. This is fixed now for the next version of the RARR biq.

At present there is no 915-turn version of RARR as all my limited Civ 3 modding time at present is used for the next version of my C3C mod CCM. When this is done, I possibly can do such a version of RARR. :)

Also I found another bug with the French, the modern age artillery is missing some files.

In RAR Elephant Riders are a big part of my strategy. If I have enough firepower (e.g. Cannons or Artillery), I disconnect any Horse resources and keep producing Elephant Riders until resourceless Cavalry is available. Artillery redlines enemies, ER's (and armies which are formed from Elite* ER) finish them what means A LOT of slaves -> no need to pay for maintenance of domestic Workers/Laborers... If the slaves work differently now, it may mean I will need to adjust my strategy.
