Rise from Erebus 1.30 Bug Thread

The Flame8:
The source<<<<<mine error you got happens when the svn prgramm finds some differences between what the file looks like and what it should look like.
It then adds some notes to the files, so that you can check what is different. This of course breaks the game, since Civ doesn't know what to do with those notes and throws a tantrum.
Easiest way, is like Valkrionn said, to delete the offending file (or xml folder) and update the svn again.
Shouldn't take long.

tried it, got rid off old errors but instead I get something like GFC error can't load themes.

I'm just going to try and download again. I'll see if that works then check back up.

If you get that, then either A) You are missing a base folder (not even in Assets, but within Rise from Erebus), or B) the main folder is not named Rise from Erebus.

Limitation of the modding system. You MUST have a folder with that name for the mod to work... Even if the folder is completely empty and all data actually comes from whatever other name you gave the folder.

I don't know I must have messed something up, so I redownloaded everything, and it works now.
Sorry for the complaint. Can't wait for 1.4

Any Idea when the next patch or release will be? I really want to play without getting a C++ Runtime error. This has to be my favorite mod of Civ4, but I can't play till the runtime issue is solved.

What C++ error do you get?

As for when the next patch would be... I quite honestly have no idea. It's a large patch, as we are redesigning pretty much everything. We do release updates fairly commonly on the SVN, however, which you can find out more about on our main forum.

What the RiFE team really needs are some programmers/graphic designers who work for burritos on the dollar...sadly there are not many who emmigrate from Mexico.:mischief:

It just says it is a "C++ runtime library" "runtime error" and gives the pathway to the exe. It says to contact the person who made the file.

it happens after I select world settings, pick a character, and hit "start". The screen reads "initializing" and as soon as it switches to "ini graphics" I hear a ding. I tap ctrl tab and see the error.

Huh. Haven't heard anything about that one. So you get a crash while just trying to load the map?

Could you try a few things? First, different map (probably done this). Second, lower the graphics settings, reduce number of civs, anything that would make it easier for the pc. Third, failing that, try reinstalling the mod.

I don't think Swamps should auto-grow (for the lizard civs) on tiles where I have workers actively making an improvement. Jungles, sure. Swamps, no.

I try exploring lair with Severous. The game says "The lair was destroyed" and "A powerful enemy has arisen (should be arrived?) to defend the lair". However I don't see any new enemies nearby. I click the next turn, and the game crashes. It happens also if I reload the game.

Try going into worldbuilder and see if somethings there. If there is just erase it and that should work.

this is a known bug in rife 1.31.195.
i don't know if it is fixed in a newer revision. for the time being just try to avoid this result by waiting 1 turn (without exploring the lair) and then try to explore again...

I traded RoK and OO techs from AI, but instead of a thane and zealot I received 2 thanes.

Drowns under Scion control don't get strong promotion from ToN (probably the same with DC's, haven't tried them). I can understand that Scion-specific units are unaffected by the tower, but religion units that can be built and upgraded by other civs shouldn't be discriminated.

That bug should be fixed by the SVN updates already.

As for Drowns... Eh. There are a few specific units that are immune, Tarq probably wasn't considering religious units when setting it up.

I always thought that was applied to summoned units only...

Not really sure where to ask this, I dont think it needs it own post.

Do you know what all has changed in the map files? I tried loading one of the old pre-made maps I had edited to work with an older version of RiFE (Nikis-Knight's huge 19 civ) and I just get a CTD, no python errors or anything first.

The F3 screen for the Crusade civic is incomplete.

Whenever I load a savegame I get this message "CivBeyondtheSword.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the support team of the application". Then it crashes to desktop. I also play other mods for Civ4 and I don't get this message playing them. RifE 1.30 Patch 1.31.
It occurs for every savegame I create when playing RifE.
