Rise of Mankind 2.8 Feedback and bug reports

Weren't Adventurers (or something like that) supposed to explore it?
Mine aren't either.:deadhorse:

Workers can explore ancient temples with Scientific Method but it does not give you the resource in the cities so that museum does not get the benifits of the resource. Neither does putting a fort on them!

Hi

Can anyone make a sense of the following log. Seen as only log with any info after CTD: PythonErr.log ?

Thanx in advance.

This is one event that needs to be balenced. In the screen shot there are 5 swordsmen with 10:strength:. The Ottoman city only has two archers defending it.

@Skeeve Sunshine

It's caused by having a non ASCII character in your username. Change your Windows Username to English only characters, and it will go away.

I believe the units that the event spawns are based on the game time. Generally, I see the swordsmen as a bit of a problem, but nothing I would lose more than one minor city to. Some properly upgraded axemen, or longbowmen/crossbowmen aren't impossible to have at this point of the game. Also, if you're really worried about that event, aim for the great wall a bit early, then it's someone else's problem, and your advantage! ;)

It needs to be changed to light swordsmen as most of the world has just descovered Iron Working. The event spawns to early as it is now.

Disappointing quest: For building 11 libraries I'm rewarded with bonus beakers in the last built library i.e. the last place I want beakers. Bonus was 2 beakers.

If you own Great Library there is an additional option of placing free scientist in Great Library city.

Well that is interesting - my win is english version, civ is english version, my username
is all english characters ... could it be that city names are using non-english characters ?

Plus the CTD was *once only* - after loading from autosave i got no problems...

why do build quests only seem worth doing if you have the optional?

I've downloaded the full version of ROM 2.8 and deleted my previous version, but there is nothing new that i can find in this version(only the six basic religions, no inquisitors, no new civs, only five civic trees) it's exactly the same and I can't figure out what I did wrong.

I have downloaded and installed the latest patch, and look through the forum to see if there's any other problems like mine. There are no error messages, but the 2.8 features simply aren't existent Help!!!!

Did you load the mod after starting BtS?

IE did you clear the cache? If the last game you played was an earlier RoM version then it is possible that BTS is not bothering to load the XML etc from scratch and so you are getting the old XML not the new. I ususlly start BTS load a different mod then load RoM to be sure.

Every game of RoM 2.8 I play crashes to desktop after circa 300 -400 turns -- normal speed, medieval start. (Encountered same thing with 2.7 but only in about half the games.) I attach logs for a game that crashed on both my desktop & laptop machines. Windows says only that the game has stopped working.
Can anybody out there help me?

I just noticed that if you have a unit with the upgrade bonus from Sun Tzu's Art of War that also has the Pankration bonus and is also lead by a Warlord then you end up with -120% upgrade cost and I am actually getting money when I upgrade the unit.

Not that I really mind getting money, I just have the feeling that's not how it was intended to work. :)

2.8 w/hotfix, and Afforess modmods (all of 'em). early 1700s, researching radio with just under half of the world's cities on Monarch, snail, huge pangaea. The tech bleed effect is doing a good job of keeping the second place civ in touch (Wilhelmina actually snagged the Statue of Liberty when I wasn't looking and has half the military I do with about a third of the cities.

Unfortunately, I now get the 'failed to uncompress' message on all my saves, and for some reason I only had two autosaves (and the first) on file. So no feedback on the future for the foreseeable future.

Edit: Er, I changed the max number of trade routes to 20 because it was possible in another mod. After changing that back, my save from this morning works. My bad.

Is there anything that reduces the number of tech master can give to vassal? As in my game, playing as Russian, Ivan. I voluuntary vassalized to celts (Brennus, He is pleased towards me, after I became his vassal) He gives every tech he has to me. (One/turn) So all I need to do is reseraching some economy techs (as AI really loves military techs). The game is on Emperor, if someone wants to look save, just say it to me.
