Rise of Mankind 2.8 Feedback and bug reports

Hey guys, I tried 5 times now, every time I play, once I get to my second turn, the game crashes... is there a patch coming out anytime soon?
 
Is it possible to "update" the quest that requires you to build 9 Ports and 5 Caravels (Harbormaster, was it?)? I don't think the quest recognizes Commercial Ports as valid buildings, and it's extremely annoying to receive the quest, only to find out that your more advanced coastal cities have already upgraded their Ports. So, if it's possible to make the quest recognize Commercial Ports as valid buildings somehow, it would be great.

Other than that, I have nothing but praises concerning this version of RoM.
 
Hey i may have found another glitch. When i tell my workers to do a action such as build a cottage or chop a forest down, the worker doesn't do his animation. Instead they do their idle animation but they still do as they are told. Sometimes my workers will stop doing actions 1 turn before they are done. Its nothing major, but its kinda strange.

Your the only person who's having issues. Please, be specific about your OS, system, and problems.

No, that's a feature. You can disable it in the BUG control panel.

I played all the previous version until 2.71 with some CTD, but overall an excellent experience.
Unfortunately with 2.8 when I select "load a mod" in BTS immediately have a CTD with the windows message "civ 4 bts stop running" or so (I have the spanish version).

I have BTS 3.19 so why didn't even load? :confused:

At first thanks for the mod.

RoM 2.8 works fine for me as a single Player.
The Multiplayer Hotseat just works till 2.63.
From then onward, when I start a new game, I get a couple of Error messages.

Tag: LEADER_WILHELMINA in info class was incorrect
current XML files is modules\Custom
Leaderheads\Wilhelmina\Wilhelmina_CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml

the same info for all the new leaders.
When the game starts and the first city is build All religions are fond at once.

IWhat's wrong

Are you attempting to play in Spanish or English?

I didn't see any response to these one so sorry if there was one.

-certain adv buildings obselete other buildings, e.g. granary is made obselete by building the adv granary. However, the normal granary is required to build the bakery. Which means, if you build adv granary before bakery, then you will never be allowed to build the bakery. There is another building with a similar problem. Don't remember which right now.

-in normal civ, corp execs can be built in any city with the corporation in the city. In this mod, for some reason corp execs can only be built by the city which has built the corporation main building.

Obsolessence is of buildings by design. Yes it is annoying to not be able to build a bakery just because you built the adv granary before the granary. The bakery goes obsolete a few techs later as well.

In RoM there is a civic option which allows any city with a corporation in it to build an exec. I like this feature of only being able to build an exec at the headquarters unless you run the civics.

Was playing as the Hittites. Any reason at all to Build more than one Steel Mill while Playing as them? ending up with -10% food -5% hammer (as is replaces the Iron Forge) makes this building useless to build in this case as a believe only the Steel resources itself is used as a prereq. for anything, not the building itself.

Still got the Wonder Movie for Chichen Itza w/2.8Lite

I personally think the Church/Free Church building Hammer bonuses are a bit much.

Steel is needed for railways, so you do only need one, but the AI also needs it so will trade for it.

The Chichen Itza wonder movis comes with BTS as do anumber of others so they should still be available in the Lite version also.

Problem solved!! BTS was not correctly updated to 3.19, so reinstalling 3.19 patch was the solution (some file missed in some previous installing/desinstalling processess...:confused:)

I am getting a CTD around 10 AD. It happens on the select something to build screen that pops ups after finishing production of something else. My other saves do not have this problem. I have even reduced to the graphics to low and windowed, but it still does not solve the problem

I am also getting the tech event msg when running advanced start. Everytime any tech is discovered by myself or the AI, an error in techAquired event handler msg appears.

Also, I have noted that the sound effects cannot be shut off.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled BtS, and Patch 3.19, and RoM 2.8, and the hotfix, to no avail.

I get a CTD on some of the new maps, but not all of them.
 
Ignore that last post. Somehow i downloaded 2.7 instead of 2.8. Dont know how that happened...

A suggestion me and my friends have came up with. It would be AWESOME if we could build bigger bridges, such as that of the golden gate bridge, for say over short distances. That way instead of using a boat to transfer people over one square of water to the next land mass.
 
I'm using standard 2.8, except for a couple of XML changes:
I allow 6 wonders and 6 national wonders in a city.
I changed the storm (dis)appearance settings.

I have enclosed the logs and the save.

I selected Sewer System, then Intelligence Agency in the two build popups (don't know if it matters), then the NSL video pops up and the game crashes when you hit OK.

You have to research a transhuman tech and then build the wonder. Can't remember which one and I haven't gotten past medieval in my last few games.

A suggestion me and my friends have came up with. It would be AWESOME if we could build bigger bridges, such as that of the golden gate bridge, for say over short distances. That way instead of using a boat to transfer people over one square of water to the next land mass.

There is a modmod which allows bridges as you suggest. Check our Afforess' modmods on the modmod forum.
 
Hi guys, I've got a problem with RoM 2.8. When I install this version of mod I can't enter to civpedia or options when i click them nothing happens what is more when i go for a play the bars, map and other things don't display i can just see a settler and a warrior on the map and the shortkeys work. I have reintalled the whole game download mod 2.8full and lite and still no improve i haven't installed any addons. I've got vista and earlier version of RoM works good.
