Rise of Mankind 2.9 feedback and bug reports

Hey All, still no response to my cry for help! I crash out ever 3 turns now for runtime errors (such as an R6025 pure virtual function call? I have no idea how to stop this happening and it's ruining the game for me. I shall soon stop trying to play ROM if I can't have a stable game for more than 15 minutes as it is so frustrating!

Please look at the first post in this thread. It tells us what we need to do to make finding the problem easier.

Basically turn logging on if you already haven't, posts the logs from after the crash, and tell us which version of RoM you are using and which mods if any you have installed.

Anyone able to help with this at all? Also, whenever I build any wonders now, especially the newly added ones, my game just crashes out and stops working. I have to save 1 turn before they're built and then re-load after a crash every single time so that I can proceed! :mad: Help!

From you 1st post:
Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings. File:\mail\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs \NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9SourceTextureData.cpp, Line:321

1st Re install the DirectX9.0c that came with the BtS CD.
2nd reduce your video/graphics settings in BtS game Options screen.

If that doesn't help then we'll try to proceed from there.

Question how much video ram does your video card have. Also does your vidoe cars support pixel shade r2.0 or better. Pixel shader 1.0 or 1.1 Will have problems with BtS and RoM.

One last item,Please read the FAQ Zappara has set up.

Is it a CTD or just a stall, saying "Waiting for other civilizations?"
 
"Just" a stall? When I had a WFOC error, it never ended!
 
OK if its just a stall, then try this:

You can still use your arrow (mouse) to go to open the Wb, in there save the game to WB area (My Games/Beyond the Sword/Saves/WorldBuilder/then which ever you named it here

Put that in , Rise of Mankind/PrivateMaps/ here

It should stop stalling then, if not, then its a completely different thing you'd have to do, but remember this is "Just a quick fix" plus if you'd like to change something that is the time to do it also.

I get them once every 40 games or so, or later on in Transhu era(alot of the time). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
 
It's a straight CTD error. Can somoene please recommend a tool that does savegame editing?

You need to do what i suggested a couple of posts ago, just use WB one turn before the CTD and start deleting civs, their are no really good XML tools, but notepad, which comes with Windows.:rolleyes:
 
Please post bug reports and feedback from v2.9 to this thread.

About bug reporting:

1. If you find bug in the mod try to describe it in detail when you post about it. This helps me to locate it more accurately and faster.
2. About missing UI problem: Please post what Windows type and language version you are using. Also tell which one you are using, Beyond the Sword or complete Edition.
3. CTDs ie. Crashs To Desktop, try to provide as much information as possible what happened just before it occurred. Even better if you can upload save game file so I can take a look at it. If you are experiencing CTDs in late game, try reducing graphic settings, BtS is known to have crashes when saved games get big and when there's lots of stuff in late game - most common reason for CTD is that Civ 4 can't find enough free memory.
4. Some Civ4 Map scripts can not make maps for Giant or Gigantic map sizes.


BtS log files

To speed up finding possible causes for bugs, you can enable logging in BtS and attach zipped log files in this thread when you post about your findings.

To enable logging go to BtS folder and open Civ4Config. Check following options to these settings:

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

; Overwrite old network and message logs
OverwriteLogs = 1

; Enable rand event logging
RandLog = 1

; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1

Now when you start game, it logs everything to log files. When you exit the game, go to BtS folder, there should be Civ4logs, go there. Zip the log files in that folder and attach the zip file in your post so I can take a look at those files.

Known issues

* If resource display is enabled and you reload the game, regenerate map or just alt+tab from fullscreen and back, the resource display gets bugged. Haven't figured what causes the bug.

Uh, I looked, but I don't appear to have CivilizationIV.ini so Civ4Config does nothing O_o any idea where I can find it? :eek:

Zappara can not do anything about your saves crashing, he does not provide that level of support. If you want a more stable game, and better support, I recommend everyone check out my RoM Expansion.

OK, I found the problem. Delete the Korean civ found around 11^45' E 20^30' N solved the problem. Maybe this will help you in finding the bug.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I notice that the Potato is not among the resources that can allow for the construction of a Brewery.

Apples, Corn, Sugar, Rice, and Wheat, yet not Potatoes?

Consider the fact some vodka or Japanese shochu are made from potatoes.
 
i have the mod installed, i can load it through civ4 but when i start a custom game none of the RoM content is there, i am using windows vista. any suggestions im not very computer literate unfortunately
 
Hello ^^

I found a pretty strange bug in your mod, you will find the log and the saved game below. (sorry for my pretty poor english, I can read and translate very well but i still have some dificulty to write directly in english xD)

The bug come frome the "divine cult".
The game is set as lan multiplayer, one of us playing japan, and the other french.

When the french player choose to active divine cult everything is ok, but when the 2 players pass their turn the game crash to desktop.
The crash happen on the 2 computer at the same time.

If the japaness player load the game and become the french player (so its on another computer) the game crash too.

The japaness player Can choose divine cult on the 2 computer with no crash.

We are both using BTS 3.19 and rise of mankind 2.91

If you look to the saved game you will see that the french player do not have the tech to get the divine cult yet, we tried it with exchange technologie AND learning tech (on the saved game the french player can learn it in 1 turn if you want to test).

french player: Jean of Arc
Japaness player: Hirohito

One not so minor bug: The Karnak Temple Complex isn`t working. It doesn`t provide the culture it shoud. Maybe the additional effect of the University of Sangore is causing this.

Add some money to Culture to give a boost. You are only adding 1 culture to that city from the karnak. You have no specialists in that city.

Is the Univ of Sangore in the adjacent city?

Only 59% of your city is greek, better up that culture %!

Looks like the Karnak is working to me, you just don't have much culture for it to work with yet.

Hi,

I just downloaded and love this mod- thank you for bringing even more depth and features to CivIV! Unfortunately, I'm midway through my first game with RoM and have found that in my current game, whenever I try to go to the next turn on year 1180, it CTD during the turn transition. Can anybody help me? I really would not like to have to scrap this awesome mod...

EDIT: Should have mentioned, I have Warlords and BTS 3.19 and a clean install of 2.91 with no other mods.
