Rise of Rome PBEM

gps--->Calis

We captured Sidon after bombardment by cats. No losses.

We captured an empty Ecbatana. Alexander climbs a mountain near Persepolis and views down over the beautiful city.

We experienced some bad luck when assaulting Trapezus!

All catapults missed.

2 HC killed while attacking and a third retreated without hurting defenders.
1 hoplite also killed while attacking.
1 hop managed to kill 1 persian cav.
To top it off, both our units that moved in city ZOC was injured!

To compensate for the disaster at Trapezus we captured Sinope wthout any casualties! :goodjob:

1 HC killed in NE Spain.

We captured an empty Ergili.

We captured Susa, lost 1 HC

We entered Ghulaman and since it was a 1 pop city it got razed.

Greek troops at Trapezus withdraw to lick their wounds. Our catapults failed to do any damage again.

The riders swoop in from the West and cut through the spearmen. However, Trapezus is a tough nut to crack. Maybe now is the time to surrender to Persia.

Qummik - you walked into a bad situation, never complained, and never flinched. You are an honorable warrior even if you are Persian.

I don't play to win, I play for fun. :)
It was interesting to see, what could I do in a bad situation like this.

One thing though - I didn't have enough info about the situation when I joined. I attacked Macedon right away, should have waited.

EDIT: 1000th post. [party]

GPS to Tboy. Some skirmishes between Carthage cavalry and Roman Legionaries in NE Spain and SW France results in casualties for both sides.

Well done Qummik! Quite a force of HC you were keeping hidden back at your capital!

All of Macedonia mourn their great leader. At least its better to die in battle than dying in fever in Babylon.

Greek forces enter the fortress of Trapezus wich was abandoned by the Persians.

When the cities Gazaca and Ecbatana hear of Aleaxanders death they decide to revolt and join Persia again!
This is terrible news for us since we upgraded 5+ catapults to fire catapults in Ecbatana last turn. We also kept some hoplites and a few HC in that city I believe.
Greek forces mass near Persepolis in a desperate attempt to conquer the city before Persian heal their wounded units.

Only good news is that we have a new form of government now called Imperialism!:)

GPS to Tboy.

No battles this turn, but a huge Carthaginian force marches on Messina and will take the last Roman city on Sicily next turn.

GPS to Drendor.
We shall never surrender to Carthaginian tyranny, no matter what the cost! The Republican Guard shall fight to the last!
1 Carthaginian HC killed in NE Spain, no Roman casualties.
