[0] 650AD - I take stock of the nation. Man... These Aztecs sure have settled a bunch! There's one city East of Tenoch, and at least four more to the north and West. Looks like there's still a whole bunch of them more to kill! I move the axe from Tenoch towards Xoch to see what kinds of defenses they have up there, and four catapults from Teot up north to the next city up there.
[1] 660AD - Between turns, axemen from Tlat attack our catapult just outside the city. We win! Tlat is now down to two archers.
Also, an archer moves out of Tlaxcala, the city is now down to two defenders, prime for attack by our three units stationed there.
And an archer moves out of the northern city to meet our advancing cats.
We get Code of Laws, start on Priesthood so we can get Monarchy and Hereditary rule.
Calcutta finishes theare, starts on catapult.
One catapult attacks Tlat, at 56% odds... We lose. Meh, I decide to save the second cat for now.
We do better at Tlax. Our first catapult damages axeman 50%, and withdraws. Second cat takes out the archer, and the sword finishes off the axe, though he is down to 0.2 health. I decide to keep the city, though we may lose it to the archer that just exited it.
We are having bad luck again with the archer up north. I lose two cats on him, despite having 67% odds of winning.

The city, however, Calixtlahuaca (Cali from now on

) is only defended by an archer and a spear.
[2] 670AD - We get Priesthood. On to Monarchy. Between turns, an archer from Tlat attacks our last catapult at the city, and... loses! Wow, we are having all the luck *between* the turns, and none during the turns!

Any way, Tlat is then down an archer, but now they've built another jaguar, and the one that was guarding the ivory to the south moves into the city.
[3] 680AD - GAH!!!! I *cannot* believe this! I lose the Axe attacking Xoch, at the odds of 70%.
[4] 690AD - Caesar demands 200 gold. Sure, dude, whatever, just don't kill us, we are busy with something else for now. Bangalore builds catapult, starts another one. Ditto Calcutta. Teot comes out of resistance. Starts building Theatre.
[5] 700AD - Tlaxcala comes out of resistance, starts building Theatre.
[6] 710AD - Monty wants peace for Meditation and 100 gold. No! Not Now! I am about to take two more of your cities!
Bombay builds catapult. Starts one more.
Cali burns! There appear to be no more cities north of it, but we shall investigate further.
[7] 720AD - We get Monarchy. Next up is Literature. Madras builds catapult. Starts and whips sword. Buddhism spreads to our lands.
We lose two more cats attacking Xoch, both had very good odds of winning! In fact, the one with 75% win odds didn't even scratch the defender. Either I am severely misunderstanding something about combat, or the random number generator *hates* me today.
[8] 730AD - Madras builds sword. Starts on catapult.
A jaguar moves in on Tlaxcala. I kill him off.
[9] 740AD - Tenoch builds Barracks, starts and whips sword, as more Monty's forces are assembling. Xochicalco is taken and burnt to the ground.
[10] 750AD - Tenoch builds sword. Starts on cat. The sword is immediately killed (against favorable odds) by a marauding Jaguar warrior next to Tenoch. I take him out with a local catapult, however.
Looks like throughout this turn, I lost a whole bunch of units, but did take three cities away from the Aztecs. They are now down to two big ones. The one in the east has some troops moving towards it from the south, and also there are a couple of catapults in the West. The city in the West has *no* troops setting up to attack it at the moment, but I don't think they can mount much of an attack themselves, either.
We are now second in military power, outdone by a little bit by JC.
Other than that, we are doing pretty well. I think after the war with Monty, we will need to concentrate on building up the infrastructure for a while, however.
