Rising Tide Features

Just a couple of new tidbits:

* You can set a game mode where everyone starts at sea. You get patrol boats right away, like you would get marines.

* There are three types of artifacts: Old Earth relics, Biological artifacts and Progenitor artifacts. You find old Earth artifacts in human settlements; Biological artifacts in alien nests; Progenitor artifacts in alien ruins.

* The nuts and bolts trading of resources or yields are in the trade route system now.

Well, they have changed some of the existing faction bonuses:


ARC: Covert ops complete 30% faster and require one less intrigue level to attempt.

PAC: First wonder built in every city is free. +1 diplomatic capital from wonders.

Slavic Federation: Strategic costs for orbital units reduced by 1. Start with five petroleum, geothermal and titanium resources.

Polyastralia: +2 trade routes in capitol. +1 in all other cities.

Also, we got a look at the final Purity-Supremacy and Harmony-Supremacy infantry unit:

Is that a typo, or have they corrected 'wonder' to 'worker'?

Screen also has a nerfed Franco Iberia bonus (which I don't get - does Firaxis think Franco-Iberia is op? ô.o) as well as the current numbers for the 2 bonuses of the new factions.

Xeno Siren: Orbital unit, attracts aliens, Biochemistry tech

Station Sentinel: Orbital Unit, doubles trade yield for stations it is positioned over

Canceling Agreements will have diplomatic repercussions

Xenomass Bathhouse: building, unlocked by combining 3 artifacts (possibly 3 Old Earth artifacts), 2 Culture, Heals units in city 100% per turn, +1 Culture on Xenomass tiles

Tier 1 submarine upgrade is called Tidehunter

Harmony Tier 2 Patrol Boat is called a Screamer. Player chooses between +1 movement or 40% vs. cities

Here are my notes from it:

Supremacy Patrol Boat upgrades are Tenet (T2) and Edict (T3).

Tenet's bonus choice is a bonus to Flanking or for being adjacent to a friendly unit

Supremacy's top tier submarine is called a Shroud (and is super sexy looking in my opinion)

Purity's top level Submarine is called an Eradicator

Harmony's top level submarine is called a Leviathan

Tidehunter (submarine T1) can be equipped with either a 20% bonus to coastal water or a 20% bonus to Ocean tiles

Wonder: Guo Pu Yaolan. The Culture cost of new Virtues is reduced proportionally to the population of the city it is built in.
 
I've been dying to post this. I caught the first sight of a Harmony/Purity unit!!!

This Thursday Firaxis Livestream (7/30/2015) provided a glimpse of the Harmony/Purity Hybrid Patrol Boat

Argo

4 Movement
16 Strength
6 Harmony/6 Purity

Upgrade Options:

Heal even when outside friendly territory +24 Strength

OR

+20% when attacking or Defending within friendly orbital coverage. +24 Strength

  • Party Politics: +3 / 6 / 10 Diplomatic Capital from your Capital. [3 DC/T]
  • Information Warfare: War Score points increased by 10 / 15 / 25%. [25 DC/T]

Edit: Purchasing buildings and units appears as another tab right next to Purchasing buildings and units with Energy. Convenient.
