GREED THREE!!! Part VIII continued

We started the attack towards Isabella's home land taking Madrid



Poor Isabella, the entire world is at war with her!

Madrid has some key wonders including the AP and SoZ. More importantly the Spiral Minerat good for another 2 gold per Buddhist building!!!!



WE were in fact the first to Physics



So we got our second GS. All we need is a GA.

We took the one of the last 2 continental cities from Isabella



We made a trade with ragnar for gold.



Took the last Spanish city



And brought Isabella to the negotiation table.



So that leaves the entire continent under our control!!!

Isabella was willing to make a trade with us.



And we told her to tech Military Tradition also.

We used the AP to open borders with all members.



We readjused civics for the moment.



Caste System to try and force out a GA as the next GP and FS for the cottage economy. In fact I think soon we will adopt US for the production bonus and ruch buying although I am liking the idea of hording even more wealth!!!!

I will get into the corps and resources in a seperate post right after this. But notice this.



The only Sugar resource is on the other continent. So far Mehmed is trading it to us. We just need to make sure that continues!!!

OK, I have no desire for an inter continental invasion. Suffice to kissup to Hammarabi and Mehmed for the Sugar, we have all the other resources but more on that in the next post.

 

OK, here is what we need for the corps.



Ok, obviously we don't know if we have coal or aluminum but I will assume we do. As mentioned earlier, Sugar we are getting from a trade. Otherwise we have all the other resources within our cultural borders.

What pairs up in what cities?

Mining Inc and Cereal Mills go together and need refridgeration and Railroad

Creative Construction, Aluminum Ince, Sid's, and Jewelers can go into one city and needs Combustion/Rocketry/Medicine/Mass media

Standard Ethanol is alone and requires Plastics.

OK, I say Barcelona is the Wall Street city since it has the Christian Shrine which we shall spread all over. There we put the four corps that go together. Mining and Cereal go into only one city, Ethanol into another.

We then spread The biog four corps to the entire world!!!! For more and more gold.

If Mehmed is the only one you can get sugar from, make sure he doesn't have any corps that will use it or he'll cut you off.

 

Note that Hammurabi and Ragnar are both in Mercantilism right now, so you'll be unable to spread any corporations to them until they change civics. You might want to force a civic change using your spies, although you should start building up some EPs against them. Currently, all your EP is directed against Isabella, whilst you've got exactly zero points against Hammy and Raggy...

Hammurabi will take Economics from you for a paltry 255 gold. Cheapskate...

Oh, and one more thing: everyone on the other continent hates your guts. I'm wondering how you'll be able to retain open borders with them (once the "mutual struggle" bonus wears off).

 

Hmmm... good question.

1) Gifting a caravel with Buddhist missionaries to Hammarabi and Mehmed to get them to adopt the Ap religion. Then I can pick a fight with the inept Viking and drag the others into it.

2) I can ignore the other continent until we go through the corps and then just "TAKE" Mehmed's sugar at the end of the game.

3) I can just exterminate the other continent and keep one city for the sugar, but that just seams to be bad business.

Mansa is an open minded kinda guy, any tactic seams OK to him!

 

What is more greedy then controling the entire world by yourself no competion all gold to Mansa.

 

GREED THREE!!! Part IX

For those war-mangers out there looking for a good old domination win via intercontinental warfare, look elsewhere! Mansa Musa is sitting on his Gold and Silver throne counting all his money. The amount of gold and beakers for such a large empire is nuts, and we are not even near a win yet!

We start by Adjusting civics



That's right, time for some production from those towns, OR for the missionaries, and caste system.

The Ap vote comes arround showing our absolute dominance



Too bad it's impossible to win diplomatically via the AP. We need Mass Media for the Jeweler's corp.

Soon we get the tech for the first corp.



And let's see what we have



I plan to put all 4 main corps in Barcelona since it already has the Christian Shrine. I cash rushed a bank/market/grocer here and then half of Wall Street. That is the only thing we rush bought this segment. Yes Mansa likes to horde his gold.

We popped another GP from Timbuktu, another GA which we used for a Golden Age. As if we didn't have enough commerce and hammers!!!

Nect we founded Mining inc in teh Aztec old capital



I also plan to put Cereal Mills there, and that's it for that city!

Very soon we pop another GP, this time a prophet which we used 5 priest specialists to force out of Madrid.



We used him for



Yehaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Another well spread shrine. We are trying desperately to get just one more prophet for the Confuscian Shrine.

After Democracy we swap to emancipation, however we have so many buildings we really lose nothing from dropping caste system.


we made this trade just because I want teh espionage building from Communism and do not want to research it myself.



I would be nice to get Military tradition too, maybe next segment.

After teching Rocketry, we founded Aluminum Inc in Barcelona and saved.

Gotta get those corps spread more and more. Too bad we can build only 1 executive at a time.

Sid's almost completely spread, working on Creative. Note to myself, keep one city clear for the Ethanol Inc Corp.

And we need to work on Confuscianism a bit incase we get that shrine too.

We also will soon need to build up some infantry/tanks/airforce just incase someone on the other continent does something foolish. we already are getting a destroyer based navy built up.

Finally, the all important victory conditions.



We certainly have several options here.

1) Space which seams almost too easy. I mean we likely could get the Spaceship built and landed before we finish spreading the corps. Still I will likely build it, but wait to launch. We can already build Apollo if we wanted in the IronWorks city.

2) Domination/Conquest. Well, we coulkd waste all those military troops killing Babylonians and Vikings, but why.

3) A Corporation driven Culture win!!! We have several candidates and already have cathedrals all over. Mass Media (and broadcast towers) are on the menu anyway.

So I say build the SpaceShip but do not launch it until three cities are near the culture limit. Then try to get both at the same time!

And of course, spread corps for more and more gold!!!!!

 

You know you don't have to build the execs in the Corp headquarters. Just spread each one to another city and let it build some too. Then you have more cities that can spread the corp.

 

I heard civilizations revolutions has a financial victory. Shoot for that.

 

I'll let somebody else make a witty remark about how this isn't Civilization Revolution.

 

This isn't CivRev. I don't believe there is a financial victory except on the Crossroads of the World scenario.

As said above use some cities to crank out execs (especially now since there isn't a limit with the latest patch).

 

I believe Vicawoo means, fulfill the requirements needed in CivRev in CivIV, and act as that gives you the win.

 

Isn't financial victory in Civ Rev very easy?

 

Get 20 000 gold and build World Bank. Now the worldbank building is imposibol since there isent one and geting 20 000 gold is also very easy scine 0% geting 1 000 000 gold would be a nice challange but probably imposibol.

 

20,000 gold??? Hell, I bet My mansa can double that before we launch the spaceship!

 

I think gold has different value in Rev, so 20k will be not that easy. Of course in Civ4 just drop the slider to 0% research for few turns.

GREED THREE!!!! Part X

THe world is at our feet! No not literally, no warfare that we were involved in. But we essentially did everything we wanted and more!

Techpath? I don't remember, suffice to say we went through the entire tech tree to future tech all by 1890. We were researching things like satellites in less than 10 turns at marathon.

First thing is we payed Ragnar a visit.



It's rellay the gold that did Mansa in with this trade, it was the gold!

We teched and teched, beelining the electricyty/radio/mass media route for those nice wonders and soon enough.



Sure the Ap goes in the toilet, but we have full access to the UN, once we build it.

Quickly we get the first modern wonder



Not needed but this is GREED!!! and we want everything!

And best yet, the next GP turned out to be one we really wanted

Ahhhh, another shrine. We spammed confuscian missionaries all over the empire.

Now I should note, we spread corps only to our own cities, the reason being it was just too much fun to put such cultural pressure on my vassals, why give them a fighting chance!!!

After industrialism



Our lone aluminum resource. Well, one is good enough.

While mansa Musa is not building any military, preferring to let the morons on the other continent weaken thier own power graph rating, we still built this.



Mansa insists on a grand HQ for military discussions. He's not committing money to troops, but he likes the meetings anyway for coffe and dougnuts!

Another Majestic and totally useless wonder.



No AI can build it yet, and we are spiritual. Yet Mansa wants it, well just because he does.

Ah, now this is cool. Time to boss the AIs arround.

By the way, we did found Jewelers Inc with Mass Media if anyone was wondering.

NOW we are looking at multiple victories, to really show what corps and alot of land (and gold) can do. But more importantly, a late game cultural win which is what we are after here.

We nab the last tech for the last corp.

we founded every corporation, and have the big 4 in Barcelona and spreading them to all cities encept where the other three are. We are getting a total of 110 culture from these corps in each city, and that's before FS civic or building bonuses.

And the last of the big modern wonders.

Mansa get's tired a seeing techs he does not have, so he makes a trade backfilling what's needed.



And with all the cultural; pressure we start flipping cities, which Mansa happily accepts.

If only I had BTS. I'd try shadowing some of these. This was the best one in a while, but rereading some of the older ones, my favorites are Chairman Mao's Revised Plan and the Bismark one that I can't remember the name of.

Getting near the stretch here, culture is building in three cities

Timbuktu
Madrid
Texcoco

Note that 2 of those cities were LATE acquisitions.

In the meantime we built



Again, just because we could!

Now, we have tremendous production and got this built



Yeah the spaceship!

But look at the victory conditions.



Culture is moving up in those three cities. Culture from the corps with three cathedrals helps ALOT.

And this wonder



Actually helped a little, as the NP was built in that former Barb city way up north and it had no rivier. Thus the 3GD got it power! By the way, that national Park city we essentially defended all game by one lone Skirmisher. Military?, who needs it!

SO I held off launching the spaceship, and looked at the screen sdvisors.



Financial, yeah we ar edoing pretty damned well in gold and beakers, with 90% science.

Then we popped a last GP



madrid is the tail end of the three legondary cities, but right now it's 31 turns from legondary status.

We launched a golden age, bringing the time to legondary to 30 turns! Note the culture slider is up to 90%, and we are building culture everywhere!

At this point we launched the spaceship,



Which will land in 30 turns, the same time that the last city, Madrid, goes legondary!!!!!!!

We culture flipped another city

THAT IS GREED!!!!! Two victory condition at the same exact time!!!!!

The game gave us the culture win which is fine by me, but understand this turn the spaceship landed. Oh, by the way we also built tjhe space elevator AFTER the spaceship was built, just because we could!




A peak at the power numbers



Hammy and ragnar were still close to us in power, and hated our guts. Still they hated each other more and were very happy to try and kill each other. Surprising, Mehmed was never killed by Ragnar and he traded suagr to us all game!

Sure we could have had a buigger score with an earlier launch date, but this is an RPC, when there was a chance for MORE GREED, we had to take it!!!!

Actually we were not hated all THAT much, but certainly not loved. Hell, does anyone ever really love Mansa!

Well, that's it! A dual Space/Culture win on the same turn! All Corps founded, three shrines, over 30,000 gold in the mali bank. What a game!
