Role Play Challenge, The Next Generation: Sid Meier, The Civilized Tyrant

The un can't be built because diplomatic victory is disabled.

I put the globe in my shadow game in an island city i took from mao with 4 seafood. But Stalin built the pyramids in my game, and my economy was ridiculously stronger so i was able to drop 1500 on rushbuying it very early, making in practical to build in a city with 3 hammers/turn. Might not work for you. And i was never sure putting it there instead of Neal was a good choice, Neal had a little more food than even 4 seafood and better logistics for getting draftees somewhere useful pre airports. I opted for oxford there though.

I see that mao settled differently from you map, so that city doesn't exist. Neal is a very good choice for globe if you don't want oxford. Other than that if you look to the continent to your north, i think its Korea there, and from your map it looks like he settled the same places in your game. There's an awesome high food city there if you're going to be taking it anytime soon. You might also search wvo's lands for a juicy looking spot. Neal is the best one on your landmass by far with the different settling patterns.

Yeah, top o' the leaderboard!

Is that true about not being able to build the UN? I thought you can still build it and have all of the choices involved except for diplo victory....

I agree with turnip regarding workshops. They can really shine given your civics, and can help turn a greener city or two into production powerhouses.

I'm very interested in seeing all of the modern units that I never seem to get to in my own games (either by winning sooner or just having enough). With the way this is shaping up, this one RPC is going to seem as long as all of the others combined! And just as fun!

Oh yeah, state property + guilds/chem/caste system = a grassland 2 food and 4 hammers, 5 hammers and 1 gold if you have it on a river tile and have levees. I usually do that with the ironworks city, that along with a military acadamy, nets me a tank a turn in marathon speed, I love that.

Get factories and coal plants everywhere! some arfields, some dry docks and then blast everything away with tanks, battleships, carriers and airplanes. Blitz shall rule the world!

I don't think you can. I always play with Diplo disabled and haven't seen the option to build the AP or the UN.

A yardsale on Divine right could get you ~1400 for inf upgrades.

Lincoln is willing trade MT, would be nice for numidian upgrades and fast warring.

Backwards folks without Rifling seem to be concentrated in the southern continent: JC, Cyrus, Brennus, Ragnar, Al, Bismark, Asoka, Hammy, BK, Shaka. But their neighbor Peter has Assembly Line and will probably be their daddy soon if you don't take the initiative. I would pass on WvO and start rolling West over Ragnar/Cyrus/Hammy.

With so many worst enemies, I would avoid vassals at least until tech trading is no longer a consideration.

Did you adjust espionage after Mao's demise?

I have a city!!!

I promise to be as much of a war-mongering, evil, despotic, governor as you will allow me to be. Any chance I can see a screenshot of my city, so I can better oppress them for you of course . .. .. .

Excellent work on the long rush to owning your continent by the way. I always love a "Hit 'em early and hard" can-do attitude. (and even more so when you succeed on the follow-through)

Yeah, its time to gobble up a few of the small guys, just be careful that their not well liked little guys. And Pick a Queen already, Sid! Or a wife, since your an Elected Official now last time I checked.

Sid Meier, The Civilized Tyrant: The Industrialization of the Civfanatics Empire!

A short segment here, at least as far as game time, but in real time quite long. Each turn is several minutes sometimes and things progress slowly.

Still Sid has achieved a very significant technological advantage, bringing the Industrial Revolution to the Civfanatics Empire!

To start, let's have a peak at the Diplomacy Screen.

I hope you are all paying attention to that, because I sure as hell am not! The world Has erupted ito constant warfare yet everyone has left us alone even though many hate our guts! I guess there are much weaker saps out the to attack.

First we had a firesale on Divine Right as suggested and got enough to upgrade our wooden based navy

To shiney and deadly Steel!

We finished

And went after Flight/electricity/Industrialism/start Radio. Yep, we Civfanatics have ONBE thing on our minds!

Meanwhile I must say that Gilgamesh met an unhappy end as someone else decided to kill him. Sid was slightly disappointed that he did not have the opportunity to kill everyone but laughes it off, it was his own fault anyway for letting the Sumemrian flee the Numidian Archers.

We Got a pair of trades

Frankly I got Military Science just to get the Blitz promotion so we can give our destroyers that promotion and sink ships faster!

As cities start getting factories and Plants we manage a small invasion force

And saved here. I need some excitement while we prepare a more serious Invasion force more suitable for us Civfanatics, however this should be enough to kill some rifles and sink some wooden war ships! We are researching Radio for Bombers and the wonders, to be followed by MAss Media, then we shall see.

Also perhaps we can review a few Key cities

The City of MadScientist

Has the Ironworks and is fully powered. I am considering putting WestPoint here.

The City of DaveMcW

Obviously we want Wall Street. Not so sure about Oxford, perhaps that should go

Into the City of Neal! Right now that is producing the most beakers due to the specialists as we have the National Epic here.

The City of Killroyan

Has the Heroic Epic and almost fully Industrialized. I want an Airport here before I restart Military production.

The City of KMadCandy

I an excellent Naval city now that it's powered! 12 XP right away, we only need one more settled GG for combat 5 promotions! Too bad we lost out on the Pentagon.

As requested, the City of Abs

Many Posters are left to name cities after. Anyone want a peak at their city let me know!

Demographics

Show that the Hammer of death shall be raining onto the heads of many world leaders soon enough!

Our cities

Doing Great People! I just wish I had the Christo Redentor already to swap between Slavery or US for rapid Building Construction!

SO We have a smallish Armada with much more on the horizon.

SO which Punt civilization do we wipe out first!!!!

Whoever sitteth second on the scoreboard should be your target. It may not be the strategically intelligent thing to do, but it definitely has entertainment value over easy steamroller fests over inferior civilisations. Therefore for the sake of the viewers i must insist that you go for the hardest possible target available for the challenge (after all it is called a role play challenge)

Wow

Strategicly: Obliterate all of the inferior civilizations!

Show: as stated above the bigger, more RPC type wars. Also looking forward for the Justanian war :nuke:

Personall thought: You need a friend, or atleast a made teching friend.
I'm usually a crazey boudica warlord in my games (play her because I actually am scottish ^.^) and having an mad techer is always usefull...even if only for 5 turns:mischief:.

Good going by the way =D

I almost pissed my pants when seeing the city screens. 44 cities already hahahahaha. I love the city of Kmad, level 5 units out of the gate is just plain sick if you get that next general (which will be pretty soon I guess). Or you can conquer the civ that has build the pentagon. The insolence. Building it before you should be punished.

FALLOUT!!! Nuke everyone!!!

well.. the Dutch has seen their era of glory and it should come to an end.... kill'em o great Sid!

this is gonna turn into a nuke fest by the end isn't it

Actually I am thinking of doing the entire thing without NUKES. Frankly, how can I give a city to a fellow Civfanatic that's reaks of fallout with a clear conscience!

A few things I find interesting.
Brennus got hinduism!
Jhao often expands fast, is it Jhao straight north of "our" empire, or is that Zara?
Pericles often does well in my games, seems boxed in here.
Did Toku expand resonably well or did he just backfill tundra/ice up in the NW?
Where's Justinians land?
The large NE continent is Shaka, Sitting bull and?

To tell the truth I have paid little attention where the other leaders are as I expected to just start expanding geometrically once China was destroyed. What do true Civfanatics care who is in our way! Ragnar is to the west, Peter to the east, Willem to the NW. Direct North I am not sure.

Pericles is a great techer but poor REXer.

Not sure what Toku is up to but I prefer to take him out once I finish the tech tree, not out of any concern but due to tiem contraints.

I am pretty Sure Justinian is due north but I could be wrong.

I believe Shaka has Kublai and Sitting Bull under his rule, not sure who else.
