RR17 -Team B

Good stuff .

Logistically going for Catwoman first seems to make sense (if she'll cap then its probably quicker to accept) then we just go west until we run out of land.

I'm guessing nocho is UP if he can fit in a set between his aeronautical jaunts ;) but that's obviously the Captain's decision .

armies are ready to rampage catwoman lands.
but do we rampage :borg: or do we accept her soumission :whipped:?

I declare myself UP! :p;)

Had a quick look at the save, looks quite different from when I last saw it, haha. And good too. :goodjob:

For the settler, I could also see it go for rice+doubleclam+horse and just draft it for ever. But on the rivercoast is an option too like astre proposed.

Not sure about vassalage. I think nationhood will be good until game end. If we go AL soon we can draft infantry too, be it for 2 pop a piece. So techwise I'd be inclined to go AL after physics, or do we want to squeeze in electricity for the coins? Or even bio, under the double assumption that we get physics' GS and it'd part-bulb bio?

My inclination is normally to take vassals when they offer it, but admittedly I'm a bit in doubt here as the army is in place already and it'll take quite some time to get it to Khmer land anyways. By that time we could have infantry anyway. So maybe just conquer HRE so the land won't count half for dom?

I think we should take Catherine as a vassal and move on to Khmer straight away. it's quicker.

I played 10 turns.

Decided to take Cathy as a vassal, mainly so she could do some teching for us. Set her to tech steel which she just finished by the end of the set. As she was on physics before, she didn't trade physics for it, but Roosevelt would; he gave up on steel probably because it wasn't his monopoly anymore. Now set Cathy on Bio.

We got physics and the GS from it. Continued Assembly Line, still some turns to go. Meanwhile configured Boston to work non-scientist specs and we just popped a GM from it, so we could launch another GA. At the end of the previous one kept the civics as they were.

With Portuguese horses, started spamming cavs. Declared on Khmer by the time our 1-movers were about in the area, but as these things go, the 3 city captures so far were all done by the quick guys. Futile resistance again. Khmer is down to 2 cities and will capitulate now, but I'd just finish him off. Note I built a couple of airships for fun which are at the front now. Next up steamroll the Persians and whatever next, it's very much wrapping up like astre said.

Meanwhile built a new city at clamclamricehorse. Also got some boats out, we nearly circumnavigated if that's on the table with industrial era starts and no one beat us to it yet.

With pop we already passed the domination limit, but as nearly always land is the issue, only just half way. Still, I shouldn't see this on my plate again. :)

pigswill is UP!
lymond is on deck!
strijder20 is on the deck's deck!
astre is unlikely to play another set!
nocho even less so!

A deck with a deck. So it's a ship which has a ship as a deck?

Got it.

Build cav and airships. Finish AL, draft infantry, raise cash, upgrade treb to cannon. Have cav/airship stack +gunpowder/cannon stack.

Kill someone. Kill someone else.

I've played 4-5 turns. Launched GA. Khmer is gone. AL is in (RR next?).

I'm wondering if we should start going for capitulation rather than annihilation starting with the Asoka the Persian.

I'm also thinking about building wealth to i) upgrade front-line rifles/grens to inf ii)speed up RR. I'm thinking that its all well and good to built/draft infantry but it will take several turns getting them to the front line pre-railroad.

AL is in (RR next?).

And then straight to tanks, I assume?

Do we really need extra troops? Check the power graph/demographics. I suppose we still have a large lead. If we do, building wealth/research (depends on whether we have more money or science buildings) seems the best idea indeed.

All we need is troops...

Raising some cash for upgrades sounds fine though. RR sounds good too, though by the time we have a railnetwork done there shouldn't be much left to conquer. ;) Vassal as you see fit. Maybe a couple of settlers to fill southern gaps is an idea to speed up dom.

i think, after AL, the only tech that make me dream is artillery.
furthermore, I suppose that cities will build factories right now.

so to my mind either :
- switch to 0% science and use gold to pump troops as we wont build many in the those days.
- stay like that and research artillery or RR

I can only go based off Nocho's save at this point. Things look good.

Really, Tech and Infra are irrelevant at this point. Just keep pumping units and maybe one settler and this game should be over soon.

Played 8 turns.
End of a Golden Age.
Built a few airships and a few more cannon.
Core cities have factories/coal plants.
Building wealth most places. RR in 3.
As mentioned earlier Khmer is gone. Persian Asoka has lost 3 cities, 3 left, will capitulate.
Cannon to weaken defences, airships to weaken defenders, someone else to kill defnders working fine.

Good! Lymond is up to get us even closer or just to domination. Strijder on deck in case there's something left to do after that. :)

fine slauther :)
the only question left is:
is it faster to win by capitulaton or domination?
We are at 40% land, the goal is 64%
we have 15 full size cities and 5 in "pacification" + 6 cities from catherine weighgting 0.5. we can calculate that a full grown city is around 2% of land size.
This is confirmed with data from capitulation of asoka, the land reach 43%, that mean that asoka left land is 6% aka 2% by cities.

that mean we must reach 29 cities for our 64% land (counting the 6 cities from catherine)

Therfore, to reach domination, we have to anilate asoka + lincoln and developp all the cities.

I think it is faster to just cap asoka and do the same for the 2 last guys.

what do you think?
