As Sicily is so close to Carthage and the times of Magna Graecia are over I suggest you look otherwise for new colonies,for example Gaul.

Welcome to RTOR 4! Several new things have been added to RTOR and this is where i will describe them.
1. Confidence in leader stat. This is affected by wins and losses of battles, deaths of great generals or leaders, or being invaded. If this get too low your people may revolt against you or join the enemy.
2. Enemies. Some nations are already at war with others, like Macedonia and Persia. These are listed under stats.
3. Vassals/conquered but self governed nations. Included in this is Egypt and Cyrenia who are both vassals of Persia.
4. Contacts. In RTOR 2 many people claimed to have contacts which they didn't have. Now there is a list of contacts by each nation.

The roman republic have never been so active since rome at first opened and united all seven hills. senators, tribunes and many more came to vote what to do next. the idea was to reunit all nations of italy under the roman republic. the word have been given and slave-settlers have been sented to build up settleings in northern italy. the first settling should be called vinece.
also the city of napoli should be built in southern italy to secure the southern seas.
the first men were just came to the army and the first and onlt legion have been built to watch the city of rome. all the soldeirs were roman-citizens, loyal and ready to give their life for rome.
a political man have been sented to th greek area to contact with the two great cities of athens and sparta, and start working with them togheter to secure the mediterian from any risk of persia rule.
the first "elite" senator have been chosen and the orders for the settling and the building of the first legion have been sent.

The young Alexander looked from his Palace balcony. It was a beutiful morning. The young ruler had more pressing matters to attend to though. He had inhareted a nation and a nation in war. The persians would need to be delt with. To do so Macedonia couldn't do it alone. it would take allys, all of greece to unite. Perhaps it would take even more.
He would have to bring together two of the worlds largest rivels, sparta and Athens. With Athinian Navel might they could stop any Persian invasion, and help invade Persia itself. With Sparta's Infantry they could hold on to and conquer Persian land. it would be tough work. In the meantime Macedonia would have to prepare for Persia.
Also the resources and population of Macedonia was small compared to Persia. They would have to expand to be in good shape.

Expand Infantry, keep the same high level of orginization and skill.

To Sparta and Athens:
Altough the two of you have not been on good terms in the past, Greeces mortal enemy is at our throats again. Persia. this evil empire must be stopped. As a resut the three of us should form an alliance. The Greek Alliance as it were. Persia would be no match versus our combined might.
As for the race to Sicily how about equally spliting it. Athens to the west and Sparta to the east. The equal amount qill help us unite and be better prepared for Persia.
Realizing now his tiny vassal state is of no importance the His Magistrate cowers.
Now then im assumming everything i do has to be okayed by Persia right?

-Enlarge Navy and Re-organize it.
-Buy slaves and make them fight for the pleasure of the people in small statiums.
-Capture and domseticate Elephants

Historically Rome at that time was not a Republic it was still under the rule of its Kings. Also it would be at war with its southern neighbours the Etruscans. And just in case u want to know the last King of Rome was Tarquinus Superbus.
And the world "Greek" wasnt what the Greeks themselves, the word Greek was a very insulting term used by the Romans to describe them hehe they called themselves the Hellenes.
Also historically Carthage should be the most power nation in the world, it should have dominion over all of north africa from egypt to the atlantic coast, as well as southern iberia and all the western mediterranean islands.
