Ruff06 - Testing / Illustrating BUG!

Firstly, Reminders now work across turns (see right!). I take a quick tour of our civ and like what I see ... good job EP. A brief summary is that we are at our happy cap. We have 1 city that is Jewish and we haven't selected a religion yet. If we go Jewish, Qin, Isabella and Roosevelt will like us. Saladin will hate us even more. That said, we might have our own home grown religion in 7 turns (Confusedism).

We also have a Great Scientist ... oops, not any more, academy at Kyoto.

On the battle front, we have a good mix of units in Chinese territory with a spy mapping out the lands. However, we have no cats. By turns end, we have at least 7. I also notice (and then forget) that our new city (Kagoshima) has no garrison. I say 'forget' because I got a warning re barbarian activity and just happened to notice that it was near our undefended city. Luckily we had a spare archer in our capital that I sent over.

We haven't mapped our the land very well so I send a Chariot West hoping to find some AIs that are a long way away (and thus our friends!). To this end, I meet Stalin in 425AD. Hmmn - could be better as he isn't that keen on mutual trade (a bit like Japan, I suppose).

We discover Confucianism (founded in Kagoshima) ... we are still to adopted a religion ... lets discuss what we want to do here ... my thinking is Confucianism because we will be waring with our AI neighbours anyway (mostly Jewish).

So at the end of my turn, I actually pull some trades (Construction to Bismark - possible friend - for Priesthood, Monotheism and Sailing). I also raze that offending Chinese city and get the following peace deal (as well as a Great General - any comments on where to put him - at the moment, I like the 2XPs in our Eastern hammer rich city) ...

I then notice that Spain has touched our borders (these wars are going to occur often ... we better be very well placed militarily), declare war and nab 2 free workers via a catapult trap.

Note of caution - our relationships could be better - and there are some interesting 'friend' blocks developing.

Have I hate that they swapped Qin and Kublai, I look at Qin and think mongolia ... why did they swap pics! I know they got it wrong at the beginning but they should have just lived with it. How about we have an option to swap these buggers back.

I'm a bit disappointed with myself that I didn't build any more settlers. I think we really need to grab our marked city sites and soon.

You are teaching EF bad habits there Ruff... not asking waht to do about the GP? tisk, tisk.;)

I say we go for Confucianism. With as much warring as we're going to be doing, I don't think the boost from same religions is going to help enough, and this way if we decide to go for the AP, we won't have a huge block of enemies in with the voting.

If you look closely (!!!), I did explain why ... "oops" ... we got an academy at Kyoto because my finger slipped in the mouse. That is my story, I didn't do it, no-one saw me do it and you cannot prove anything.

LMAO! Could you have made the font any smaller there Ruff?;) Well, I don't think we have enough units to make a Warlord worthwhile. I'd say we boost military production.
 
:lol: @ all of you. I would have used the GS to build an Academy, as that's what I usually do with the first if I'm not gonna be able to trade techs. However, given that he was born 3 turns before the end of my set, I figured we could discuss if necessary. Clearly, it wasn't necessary. :rolleyes:

In any case, I'd prefer settling the GG for the +2 XPs. We'll have Heroic Epic soon enough, right?

BTW, I made the reminders log using default (black). Any idea for an appropriate color?

Well, I think academy in capital is a no-brainer for an early GS. He couldn't lightbulb anything useful anyways... Letting him be would be a waste!

About the GG, I like the +2 experience. Combine two with the HE and a military academy with West Point and we shall have two major military cities instead of just one. Of course, WP and Military Academies come waaaaaaaay further into the game.
Slightly OT: Has the Military Academy bug been fixed? Do we (and the AI) now need Military Science to build it? I haven't played much since 3.13... :mischief:
 
I checked, cannot build military academy. I think we are getting a consensus of settling for +2XPs. I suggest the plains hills rich city to the capital's East (name unknown).

Military Academy requires Military Science. That it didn't pre-3.13 was a bug (a bug, not the BUG).
 
I think you're speaking of the cow-rice city surrounded by plains SE of the city. If so, I concur.

You may be talking about the FP-rich city with hills as well to the NE. This would be okay, but my thinking was it made a much better commerce city than SE did. Plus SE is close to our two major early fronts.

I got it, but want to wait a day because I'm almost done with BAT. I'm going to pull the current version since it's still riddled with bugs, and upload what I have today. I've tested it without a single problem, but it'll be damn near impossible to test that all the units are working.

ANYWAY, back on topic... Will use the GG in Satsuma. Going to throw out another settler in my turn set too. We should have our core built by now....

Well, as alerum didn't post his turns yet and I'm on deck, you should know that I can't play again until Monday at least. So, if you guys want to keep this moving, please, keep swapping me until Monday. I'd ask a skip, but I already did last time and I don't want to skip again... :blush:
