article said:
ATLANTA -- The father of two toddlers who police says were killed when their mother put them in an oven and turned it on says the woman called him by video chat Friday to tell him the children were dead.
Local media reported Monday that the warrant charging Atlanta woman Lamora Williams with murder in the deaths of the two boys, 1-year-old Ja'Karter Penn and 2-year-old Ke-Yaunte Penn, says she put them in the oven sometime between midnight Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday.
The father of the children, Jameel Penn, says Williams called him by video chat Friday night. Penn says Williams panned around the room, and he called police after seeing his sons on the floor.
"After I seen what I seen, you know I called the police," Penn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Sunday.
Longtime friend Neesa Smith told the paper Williams called her before she called Penn Friday night.
"I asked her what was wrong and she said, 'I can't do it no more,'" Smith said.
Smith said Williams told her both the boys were dead.

TLDR : mother kills her two children by frying them in the oven...

Not that i view what happened as funny, obviously, but to make something less grave out of the news...: it does give new meaning to the phrase 'got one in the oven' :/

-It seems this was triggered by general poor conditions, as well as a history of mental illness. What was your own reaction to what happened?

Spoiler :

That's either a very big oven or very small children.

Typical atheist. Wants to eat babies but doesn't know how to prepare them properly.

I could probably get one in mine if I took all the shelves out. Not much chance with two.

At least they don't have to grow up without a father now.

That sounds absolutely awful. I hope they didn't suffer and like passed out or something, roasting slowly in an oven sounds like the absolute worst way to die. At least dying by immolation your nerves fry pretty fast so you don't feel anything and it's over in a minute or so as your body goes into shock.

If you're going to kill two small children (and since some 2-year-olds are still not housebroken, they're basically still babies), a normal-sized oven would work (two vertical racks) since the murderer wouldn't care about their comfort; she'd just shove them in and close the door. I know kids die in fridges and freezers because they don't understand that they can't be opened from the inside, but I don't know about ovens - not that babies would be strong enough to do that even if they understood that opening the door was the only thing to save them.

The woman's lawyer will cite mental illness (not sure how long a post-partum depression can last). The public will be divided between helping her and wanting her executed. In short, it's an awful thing, but it's not a new thing. At least she confessed.

Honestly, I can't muster more than a passing bit of sadness for that. What got to me this morning was reading about the grass fire in southern Alberta, where fires destroyed homes and ranches. The news site had a photo of a horse's skeleton; the animal couldn't outrun the flames and was burned to death where it stood (the skeleton shows the horse was stretched out on the ground when it died). And of course there were the people who evacuated but didn't take their cats. Not sure why they were surprised to come back and find the cats had been burned to death.

I can't help but be curious what the cause of death actually was. Hopefully like you said, it was suffocation or something that is relatively painless. Dying from burns is the worst way of dying. Rest in peace little ones.

The one you posted? That doesn't name any causes of death.

Honestly, after all the nasty stuff I seen on the news, I'm not even shocked anymore. The worst part is that humans have always been this messed up, it's just easier to find out about nowadays.

At least this was a case of serious mental issues, ISIS just burns people because they think it's fun.

They think it's fun because they have serious mental issues.
