It's interesting that the McCain/Palin campaign is attacking Chicago's Citizen of the Year 1997, Ayers, but that they can't do it to his face like honorable.

What would the political ramifications be if McCain actually did confront Obama with the esteemed and respected Ayers face to face on a live stage?

Obama is trying to goade him. He did it to Bill Clinton and it worked perfectly, probably what won him the nomination. If you don't know he said in a newspaper interview that Clinton was not a transformative president like Reagan:lol:. After that Clinton lost it on the trail.

While I have no doubt he's trying to goad him here, I don't think the Clinton one was necessarily goading. Reagan was a Transformative President. He ushered in a drastic shift in the tone, direction, and ideological makeup of American politics. Clinton did nothing of the sort. Hell, he coopted a number of traditional conservative issues himself, went for the big tent approach, and was largely a status quo President. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but Obama's statement sounds more like frank, honest analysis. Which is something he was kind of known for back than. (Until it blew up in his face with the 'clinging' bs, since than he's been more politically savvy and careful about it)

That is possible. What he said about Clinton was true but I think it was intentional goading. He is too diciplined to just spout off about Clinton w/o having thought it through. Who knows, it worked:goodjob:

I've lost all respect for McCain, what a sleazy campaign. He lies thru his teeth (or is he somewhat honest and just too old to remember what he's said in the past?) and then accuses others of dishonesty  He said his lil diddy about bombing Iran was a private thing with a vet he was talking to but he's on film singing it on stage at a rally and his campaign has been using the Beach Boys song Barbara Ann at multiple rallies. So he's smearing Obama as risky for saying he'll attack Pakistan (another lie) while he goes around singing about bombing Iran. I mean, thats just the latest BS and its non-stop...

And whats with those GOP audiences? Jesus thats ugly

Vote Babar

thats Bob Barr

I was with you until the bolded part. Bob Barr's an extreme conservative hack repackaged as a Libertarian hack since he got re-districted out of Congress.

But hey...its not Mccain, so more power to ya.

I'm still waiting for Obama to impune McCain's service to McCain's face.

And when exactly has Obama impuned McCain's service behind his back or through his surrogates?

What is a hack? I know some of his past in the GOP and I didn't like him, but he appears to have repented ;) My main issue this election is foreign policy, I see it at the root of most of our problems and I see a very nasty future for the USA if we continue playing global cop. Neither Obama or McCain will get us out of the ME (or the ~100 other places we're involved) much less enforce the Constitution so they're not the answer.

Well, you might be disappointed, since there's no indication that anyone's going to do that, to his face or otherwise.

Politicians are a lot like lawyers ( many of them were lawyers) they will sometimes argue in court like the other is their own worst enemy. Yet after the case is over they will give each other high five and then go out to lunch together.

You mean like Bush did to Kerry? Oh, wait...

I don't Obama has ever said anything bad about McCain's service, so not sure where you're going here.

The fact that for some idiotic reason Chicago declared Ayers the citizen of the year means nothing. Ask around, almost no one will support your view that he is honorable or esteemed. He is an unrepentant terrorist. Pure and simple.

Discuss the validity of criticisms regarding Obama's connections to him, sure, but I would strongly bet Obama would refuse to appear on stage with Ayers. No one supports him, practically.

His political service, calling a thirteen year old girl a dog.
Yep, that must have taken some real moral courage.
I am only surprised Clinton did not knock his teeth down his throat.
I forgot, it is only we liberals from the Commonwealth who thump politicians when they get out of line.
