SCH0001 - Learning FFH

Gee thanks ;) Got it!

Okay lots of ideas being thrown around but I think the next 10 turns should be fairly straight forward, just installing patch 'g' so I can have a look at the save.

Will probably play tonight/tommorrow morning.

Okay. There might be a bit of a hiatus on my behalf that way since I'm away Tuesday evening, and might not have time on Wednesday as well.

I think it plays pretty straightforward from now on. Unless you get bored and declare on Hyborem there's nothing that can go wrong. ;)

Played the next 10 turns, a fairly boring set really, I just had a quiet builder set really (you know we could do with one of those evry now and again)

Inherited turn (210)

Not much going on, there's a sign place on Steinvik saying "feel free to change" I assume its regarding the build of a mage's guild, can't think of anything really important so I leave the build as it is. Swap a couple of tiles here and there to reduce our -15 Gpt to -11. Decided to go with schwartz and rush the brewery in Vallas.

(211)

Vallas Brewery > Library
Nininsnal warrior > Monument

I love how the captured workers during the last war are still dwarves!

Rossier is in the North by the newly captured cities.

(212)

Halowell warrior > monument

We get a great scientist from Atm, options are Acadamy/Settle same as BTS, bulb Alteration(9 turns) or Golden age. Should have probably waited and discussed but went ahead and built an Acadamy in Atm.

(214)

Fiess Mabdon Inn > Worker
Galveholm Inn > Library

(215)

AtM mageguild > Worker
Torrolerial Elder council > Library
Tongurstad Worker > Library

(216)

Divination is in, Hunting next.

School001_Groo202.jpg

Nininsnal Monument > Granary

(218)

Feiss Mabdon worker > elder council

(219)

AtM worker > Adept

(220)

End

Summary

Rossier was last spotted in the North poking his nose around Halowell but he's dissapeared into the fog.

Over the course of the set as more cottages have come on line our Gpt has increased, we are currently positive +3 Gpt @40% science (136 beakers) 813 gold in the bank, next player might want to crank the slider up a notch as we still have plenty of funds.

All our horsemen (bar one in the northern cities) are residing Torrolerial next to Dis, not sure if this is actually a good idea as I guess an assualt from Hyborem might essentially wipe out our entire stack!

I assume you talking about the main Fall from Heaven installation file, "FallfromHeaven3033". Odd that your PC won't recognise it??? Should be able to just double click it as its just an application.

It needed the .EXE added behind its name. R_Rolo1 helped me out, thanks anyway Groog, lookin foward to playin witcha in SCH0002. Now for FFH2!

you know we could do with [a quiet builder set] evry now and again

Look, the bottom line is that if we don't have troops overseas on my set, I'm declaring war on cottages or farms or something.

Captured Dwarve Workers

This actually has a purpose- you can use slaves to add +15h to a build in a city, work the land, or add specific slaves to slave cages when you are Balseraph for happiness and culture.

Actually anyone can do slave cages now, all you need is a carnival. Which means you need festivals first. If we ever get around to it the market gives +2 gold and -1 beakers and it needs festivals as well.

Do we have an adept, or even a mage guild, yet?

Read Groogaroo's report a bit closer for the answer to that question :)

Oh! Duh. Sorry about that, forgot it by the time I posted I guess. Yea for having an adept soon. Thanks for the correction on the market as well, I usually just remember the -1 beaker part because it is the only one of the three (elder council monument and market) that still has a negative. Either way they should be quick to build and helpful when we get around to them, after stirrups if we aren't done by then...

Inherited turn (220): Remicro some small details.

IBT: nothing happens.

Turn 221: Nothing happens.

IBT: Nothing happens... again.

222: Archery finishes and I take Stirrups (of course) as the next tech. ETA 14 turns.
A Elder Council finishes in Feiss Mabdon, I start on a Siege Workshop.

223: Galveholm finishes a Library and I start on a Settler.

226: AtM finishes Adept, start on Granary. Conrond Mor finishes an Elder Council, start on a Library,

227: EC finishes in Radonnor, start Library. Library in Tongurstad, start Brewy.

230: Still, nothing happened. A boring economical turnset. Stirrups are due in 5 turns: spirit mana is available in 2 turns. We're almost ready, depending on how whether we want to get Warhorses before we take out Hyborem.

Civ4ScreenShot0092.jpg

I never heard anything again of my Tower of Divination idea: what do you think? Not that it matters anything for victory (after all, once Hyborem snuffs it it's pretty much going to be a cakewalk) but it might speed up things a bit because we're able to head for Optics earlier by ToD'ing Warhorses. I still think we need it before attacking Hyborem, because I'm not a big fan of the 'throw enough troops at it and it will eventually go away'-tactic. I want to keep our horsemen (soon to be horse archers or war chariots) to kill vampires. Just saying. :p

Sorry about being late for Have it call I didn't check yesterday. Anyways I have it. Wait for warhorses to be done to go to war with hyborem? The Tower plan sounds good depending on how long it will take as dedicating a city to it is worth it. I will wait a day but take a look at the save for our best options on Tower and what not.

Been over 72 hours, if there's no word from Cheshiremythos I'm going to pick it up and play tonight (~10 hours)

Not much of interest happening in the game right now so not too much discussion necessary!
