School Courses

im pissed that my school doesn't offere an ap world civ, or a european history class :(

I took the AP World History test without a class, since my school doesn't offer one. I just read the textbook and some "Prepare for the AP Test" books.

I actually managed to get a 5. The World History AP test isn't all that hard; I'm sure just about anyone could get away with doing the same thing. (I wouldn't recommend doing that for European History, though)

One warning, though: AP World History is NOT the test for you if you have a low tolerence for Political Correctness.

None of the classes I am taking now (or that I took over the summer) will be good at any college except the one I took them at. No good school in the United States accepts credits from their peers; they all consider themselves better. It's sort of amusing, actually, to see these institutions act like little kids :)

Well, that does surprise me. Maybe it shouldn't, but it does. On the other hand, if they did accept credits from their peers, they'd be like Canadian universities, and no American university wants to be just like a Canadian university. ;)

Makes me happy that I'm in Canada -- even though I won't transfer from the University of Victoria. (Mmm... anticipating entering UVic next year...)
