Current Science (57 techs)

Currently researching Refining
Machine Tools (Artillery)
Miniaturization (offshore platform)
Combustion (Submarine)
Automobile (superhighways, Battleship) [Cancel's Leo's]
Mobile Warfare (Armor) [Cancel's Sun Tzu]
Mass Production (mass transit)
Computers [SETI Program]
Robotics (Howitzer, manufacturing plant)

We can throw Genetic Engineering in there whenever we want depending on if we want to try for CfC.

I'll just make Refrigeration a generic option also. If we have no other choices other than flight, take it.

Looks good, Duke. Two things:

1. We'll likely be able to get Genetic Engineering from a rival. The AI's have been doing some trading of late, and soon enough they're bound to be GIVING it all away. Our spies are at the ready :)

2. Do we want to have refrigeration up in the queue so early? I really can't remember if that tech leads to anything. I know it would certainly help some cities like THDP and maybe a few others, but we have but one city with sewers and many cities (other than the home ones) still need to irrigate a fair amount of tiles.

Again, I can't remember too much on this one. Does refrigeration do something more that just allow for farming and extra food once a supermarket is built?

Refrigeration is a dead-end tech.
I don't think that we need it yet. I see it as a consolidatory tech the real worth of which is only to boost your score once you have pounded the AI into the ground. You don't need farmland to grow your cities into a position by which they will be challenging to build a spaceship. We should pick this up as a tech to be researched only if we want to keep Leo's or the Colossus for a few extra turns because we are about to take a city and want to upgrade their units or to get the tech before Flight cancels our wonder. It shouldn't be a priority tech by any means. Miniaturisation looks to be very useful for our island nation though. :D:goodjob:

I'm thinking that the engineers on the home island can keep railing the forests for more shields and just some basic other stuff. Then, moving them around a bit would be great - there are MANY other things elsewhere that need doing.

I'd like to keep at least one around, though, for possible pollution issues.

So do we agree that we'll reserve refrigeration until some point where we either wish to delay flight or our desired tech is not given as a choice? (or we steal it?)

Hell No. It's on my list and it'll stay there. :p

Of course we'll delay it. :)

Damn, I just looked at my list again, why the hell is refrigeration next? I think I meant to paste it above Mass Production, not Machine Tools.:crazyeye:

Oh, I see what I did. I had copied the left over techs from my last science thread, but forgot to move refrigeration lower, since back then it wasn't certain whether we were going to war or planning to celebrate. :o

[Mr. Burns voice] EXCELLENT [/Mr. Burns voice]

We'll go for machine tools next and continue on that program. That should take us where we need to go.

Thanks, Duke!
