Science & Technology Quiz

6/20 :D Science isn't really my best subject.

Got 15/20.

Lost out on all the dates and number stuff.

Here's an extra hard one:
Why do all mammals have 7 vertebrae in their neck? :mischief:

16/20. Missed the TGV question (not surprising having only ridden one once and it's not like they tell you as you are getting on "today we will be travelling 600km/hr"), the history questions of the 3 Gorges Dam and the invetion of the zero, and the Columbus one (overthought the word "mistakenly"). Pretty respectable.
I like that there are some current events, like the 2003 Nobel Prize question.

14/20, probably because some of the questions were ones I never had encountered before or read about.

Totally guessed on the invention of "zero" since I don't recall ever reading anything stating who had first though of the concept.

It's a pity, it is a very interesting subject. What zero represents seems totally obvious today, to the point where we wonder how it could be "invented". But the probable story of its invention, in two steps, is quite fascinating.
Apparently the first step was taken by the Babylonians, who first thought of using a place-holding sign to fill the gaps in their base-60 numbering system, where signs had different values depending from their place (like ours, but unlike the roman). It was not a true zero though, since (apparently) they did not also use it to represent a null number.
The second step, realising that the place-holder actually meant "zero of that level" (level in the sense of hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, ect.), and thus was the same thing that a null number, was probably taken first by the Indians.

10/20, but for a true 'alpha' like me that's not bad at all.....

I trust you had much higher scores in the World Today and World History quiz?

Oh, and does anyone know where I can get a better picture of the Concorde? I would prefer one on a blue sky, and even more importantly, one with enough empty sky around the plane for me to fit it in my quarter-circle.

Could you just say Golden Rectangle? ;)

I got a 14/20.

Kinniken, would you mind if I featured your site on my site's Site of the Day feature?

Not all of them do... for example sloths can have more or less than 7 vertebrae.:p

Of course not, I would be honored! I'm always looking for more visitors for everyone of my sites ;)
Where would that be?

You accidently speeled heart, hart in one of the questions, I think I told you about it on the site though.
P.S. 11 out of 20

Wow. I looped it:

A normal package of cigarettes is based on this proportion. So is the Parthenon. So is a toilet scrub-brush I measured out of curiosity. Somebody's got to design these things!

Maybe my internet settings are too tight. Sounds like your script couldn't run on my machine.

I clicked the first choice for all, got the results page this time - 9 of 20.

The error page I viewed before was in the style of your other pages, and offered the option of submitting the error. I hope that helps.
