Screenshot analysis!

Here is a icon on the map that looks like a shipwreck, have we seen that before?
I guess that it works like a archeology site/ruin for water, where are also two of the normal kind on land.

Noah's Ark wonder. :D

In all seriousness, it does look like a shipwreck. Marine based archeology is very cool. :goodjob:

Now will it give relics? artifacts? a lump sum of $$$?

Here are some tasty screenshots of tooltips:

Balloon looks like it gives "+1 Range to adjacent bombard xxxxxxxx" - maybe it's "bombers ..."??

So they are, fixed - thanks. Seems to give quite a bit, over 10 if I see correctly.

The tiles were giving 2 food and 4 gold (so thats probably all from the district)

Here are the score screens.

Culture victory

Kongo only needs to get to 66 tourists as that is one more than the 65 domestic tourists of England which is in second place. All the other civs need to get to 207 tourists to beat the 206 domestic tourists in Kongo. When they hovered over some of the brown suitcases:
  • Spain: Overall Tourism boosted +25% for trade route
  • Norway: Overall Tourism penalty of -15% for different governments
  • England: Religious Tourism reduced -50% for Enlightenment
  • England: Overall Tourism reduced -18% for different governments [note different value than for Norway]

The was both a current and lifetime amount of tourism.

Score victory

Rome has max turns at 330 so would be a Quick speed game while Kongo has it at 500 turns so would be a Standard speed game. Thus, the production values, etc. in the Kongo tooltips would be expected to be higher than those seen in other livestreams.

Religious victory

Overview

The order of the civs for each victory condition is based on their current standing. For each civ, you can hover over them to find out details on where they stand.

Kongo is first in Science, Culture and Domination and 6th in religion. Its lead in science is 51 techs to 30 techs earning 2.5x science per turn. So this is a total blowout and explains why the other civs just seem to have crossbows, knights and catapults.

This information is like the pop-up ranking screen that appeared in Civ 5 every X turns with one of the possible stats from the demographics screen--but always accessible.

  • Science tooltip for 1st place: Mvemba a Nzinga, Empire of Kongo, Technologies Researched: 51, Science per turn: 154.1
  • Science tooltip for 2nd place: Victoria, English Empire, Technologies Researched: 30, Science per turn: 61.1
  • Culture tooltip for 1st place: Mvemba a Nzinga, Empire of Kongo, Tourism per turn: 217, Culture per turn: 201.8
  • Religious tooltip for 1st place: Tomyris, Scythian Empire, Converted Cities: 28 and Faith per turn: 80.5

In the Rome game, Rome is second towards Science and Culture, third towards Domination and first for Religious. Greece was in first place for the non-religious victory conditions (so deserved to die).

Anybody taken a screengrab of the Greek diplomacy screen? The screen where it shows the relationships and such.

Also, as I've said elsewhere, my first turn in this game it's going to take an hour as I explore and investigate all of the panels, lenses, and whatnot in this game. I can't wait...

The name of the agenda for Barbarossa is "Iron Crown".
(You currently have "Free Imperial Cities")
Don't know what you're looking at, but I have "Free Imperial Cities" as the Special Ability, and "Iron Crown" as the Agenda.

Here is a icon on the map that looks like a shipwreck, have we seen that before?

We did see something in a previous video that looked suspiciously like a shipwreck.

The relationship panel wasn't visible when he talked to Greece--it was the gossip. Attached is it as well as the relationship ones for Japan and Germany.

I could've sworn that he switched over to the relationship. Damn... I was hoping to get a further clue/confirmation about the Agenda from the relationship status. Likely, it does have something to do with not liking city-state bullies.

Citizen Growth, Amenities and Housing for Ostio of Rome:

Spoiler :

attachment.php

Amenities and Housing for three Kongo cities.

Kinchassa - 16 pop, 16/27 housing, 7/7 amenities
Was getting +1 amenity from national park as it was in range
Each Mbanza was giving a flat 5 housing (normal neighborhoods depend on appeal of tile such as Charming = 5)
Not sure all the buildings that are increasing housing (can see 4 of 5: granary +2 , university +1, 2 farms = 2 x 0.5 = +1)

Spoiler :
attachment.php

Kristiansand - 17 pop, 17/18 housing, 7/8 amenities
Had been captured from Norway so had War Weariness as a negative modifier on Amenities.
Housing level (one below soft cap) was causing -50% population growth rate.
Has +2 amenity from national park as was associated with this city. In tooltip it was "Kristiansand National Park"

Spoiler :

Mbanza Kongo - 16 pop, 16/16 housing, 7/7 amenities
Housing level (at soft cap) was causing -75% population growth rate.

Ed discusses his 1:2:3 rule starting @20:00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_F7_td7M5s&t=1200

  • 1 housing needed for 1 pop
  • 1 amenities needed for 2 pop in empire
  • 1 district needs 3 pop. Unique districts, aqueducts/baths and neighborhoods don't count towards district cap.

There are three primary sources of housing from early to late in the game:
  1. Fresh water
  2. Improvements like farms and plantations
  3. Neighbourhoods

I'm a bit confused about the Bath tooltip shown just before he builds it in Ostia. Ostia is on a river, so an aqueduct would normally give only two more housing. The tooltip explains that a Bath supplies an extra two housing and an extra amenity over an aqueduct.

However, the "summary" at the bottom of the tooltip says 2 housing and 1 amenity. Shouldn't the summary say 4 housing and 1 amenity?
