Noticed some interesting things about diplomacy. The declare war button now says "declare surprise war" with a +10% warmongering penalty. This hints at how casus belli will work. If you just go to the diplo screen and declare war, it will be considered a surprise war and you will get a penalty. Presumably, if the AI does something against you, the player will get an option for a "justified war" with no warmongering penalty.

There is also a gossip column which presumably will give the player info on what other civs are doing. There is an access level. No idea what that is. Maybe the friendlier you are, the more access you get, and the more gossip you get?

In the deals screen, we also see there is a "joint war" agreement. So fighting joint wars will be possible. Yeah!

It can still be owning all the capitals, just that a razed one isn't counted anymore after it's razed. So if you raze all the enemies capitals, then you will own all capitals (which would happen to be the only one left, yours).

Or they're reverting to Domination victory from previous game. as Conquest was about eliminating all the civs and Domination about having the % population and land. Which was scrapped and switched with Conquest (so it was Domination with Capitals).

Quite frankly, I personally kind of felt that the Domination victory in Civ games, I mean, personally, I found it a little tedious to have to manage so many cities for world domination.

Hagia Sophia 4 faith and 2 Great prophet points per turn. Missionaries and apostles can spread religion 1 extra time. Must be built on flat land adjacent to a holy site district. You must have founded a religion.

Mahadobi Temple 4 faith per turn. 1 Great Prophet point per turn. You must have founded a religion.
Think it must be built on woods adjacent to a holy site with a temple. Grants 2 of something starting with A. I believe it is apostles.

edit. eiffel tower all tiles in your civilization gain 2 appeal. Must be on flat land next to city center.

"Apostles" were mentioned by Dennis Shirk in some interview a while back. Wasn't sure if he was using flowery language to describe Missionaries or not, so this confirms Apostles are new. I speculated in some thread a while back that that they exert continuous religious pressure & don't have any charges, but who knows.

Edit: nvm looks like apostles have charges, according to the Hagia Sophia

Wonders:

- Stonehenge says it needs to be adjacent stone, and on flat land. It gives +2 faith and a free prophet, and allows you to found a religion there instead of a holy site.
- Oracle must now be built on hills. It gives 1 faith and 1 culture and great person points for: Scientists, Prophets, Artists, Admirals, Engineers, Generals, and merchants. Great people require 20% less faith.
- Great Library Gives scientist points, has 2 great work of writing slots and gives a tech boost to all ancient and classical techs.
- Pyramids need flat desert and give 2 culture, a free builder and give all builders an additional charge.
- Hanging Gardens must be built near a river and give a 15% growth boost in all cities.
- Mahabodhi: Must be built in forest next to holy site. Gives +4 faith and +1 Great Prophet Point. Grants two apostles.

Districts:
- Encampment District: In addition to containing military buildings, gives 1 great general point
- Theater District: Adjacency bonus for wonders (large) and other districts (small)
- Holy Sites produce both faith and Great Prophet points, meaning prophets no longer come with faith, but are like other great people. Adjacency bonus for: Natural Wonders (large), mountains (medium), UNIMPROVED forest (small)
- Industrial District: Production bonus for Mines/Quarries (large) and districts (minor)

The Pyramids give a free Builder and all Builders can construct an additional improvement. Requires desert tile or flood plains.

It seems we now have to consider potential wonder placement as well, when planning out where to settle and build districts. Could be some hard choices ahead if you can only build the Pyramids or Stonehenge, depending on where you settle and/or found your districts.

EDIT: @indradiva: Seems like a very strong bonus, especially if it doesn't go obsolete at any point. Interestingly, for China it's less useful, since it only gives a 25 % bonus, as opposed to other civs which get a 33 % bonus (assuming that China can get 5 charges by building it, which I would think to be the case, as otherwise the 'mids would be next to useless to them).

EDIT2: I only now read TPangolin's post... Man, do some of those wonder bonuses appear powerful! Oracle especially... Bonuses to (almost) *all* GP points? *And* 20 % cheaper GPs? I suspect I'll be reloading until I get hills in the capital every game! :p --I'm both enthused and a bit worried about the powerful wonders. On the one hand they'll be fun to build, but otoh it might be a bad thing to make something so powerful depend on randomness (map seed) to a great deal. So far every wonder that we've seen has required specific terrain for it... Maybe they've gone a bit overboard in this regard, with the environment making your decisions for you?

I like it, As much as it is fun I've always neglected other areas of gameplay. Civ 6 sounds great to break your typical startegies from the gate.

A number of the wonders just require flat land near a district which should not be too hard. That covers great Library and the later religious wonders. Oracle just requires a hill and Hanging gardens a river. Those are pretty prevalent tiles. You will be able to get most wonders each game if not all in the capital. It just takes a bit of planning and proper district placement.

More information spotted!:

- Water mill: +1 production +1 food, +1 food to rice and wheat, city must be built next to a river
- Granary: +1 food +2 housing (max pop?)
- The Pyramids: +2 culture, get one free builder, all your builders have one extra charge
- Barracks: +25% XP for melee and ranged units, +1 Great general point, +1 housing
- Hagia Sophia: ???
- The venetian arsenal: ???
- The Colisseum: ????

Also: Internal trade routes generates production, food AND gold at the same time!

Ugh, Venetian Arsenal... I hate when a wonder's name in game refers to the real life place it's in. I'll have to mod that to Great Arsenal on day one.

So if Coliseum is the second World Wonder this does mean that Sphinx is not and that Egypt has it as the second UI because I highly doubt the Forbidden Palace will be a second UI for China.

I bet you HATE the Sydney Opera House, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Great Mosque of Djenne, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. :crazyeye:

Yup! In my mod they're simply the Mausoleum, the Great Opera House, the Great Mosque, and the Leaning Tower. Also Oxford is the National University and the East India Company is the Merchant's Guild. :smug:

"Hate" is a strong word, but I also dislike it when they include the name of the city in the wonder... not only is it not being built in that city, but sometimes the named city is somewhere else in the game.

Why not the Great Mausoleum or the Great Leaning Tower or the Great Merchant's Guild or the Great University? :p

Well... 'The Opera House' or 'The Mausoleum' aren't very specific :p

On the subject of wonders, it looks like China has built Big Ben in this still from one of the videos, but I don't think anything has been said about it yet:

It also looks like as if there is a parking lot in the industrial district. I wonder what that might be.
