Screenshot analysis!

Reminds me of a bag of coffee beans:

Spoiler :
civ6_strategic_resources.jpg

I think it looks like a Turkey it even seems like it might have legs, however that is unlikely especially considering the presence of tea.
Ideas for partial UA:
America: double amenities from coffee. England: double amenities from tea.
Looks like meat to me. It's Rice, Wheat, Meat and Horsehead on a plate.

A healthy mix of food products. :P
In Murica we don't eat horse, its for gross foreigners. :crazyeye:

Mystery icon:
I think it's this thing(I don't know English word for it) where you grind spices with in this bowl with a small mace. Spice mortar it's called I think?

Mortar and Pestle is what it's called.

About the icon: Game meat or Poultry.

Hey there, we don't eat coffee, thank you very much.

We do in America, after dipping them in chocolate. ;)

The icon looks like coffee to me.

Have you tried coffee cake?

Coffee is the only thing that makes sense to me at this time with that quality of icon.

Depends. Usually what's called "coffee cake" is a spiced cake served with coffee, and I have had that; I've never actually had cake made from coffee, though. I've made shortbread cookies with coffee (well, espresso) before; they're to die for.

I'm fairly positive it's some sort of grain. It does look like a spadel that you scoop it out with.

Hmm, if rice and wheat are both in, perhaps barley or sorghum? Given that rice is the staple in most of Asia and parts of Africa and wheat is the staple in Europe and parts of Asia, I would hope that maize, the staple of most of North America, would also be in--but the icon under discussion is clearly not maize.

The coffee cake that I've had is made with coffee and coffee grounds and topped with powdered sugar. Quite nice for a breakfast treat.

Now back onto the screenshots. I definitely like how these new shots show some larger scale views.

Given that we see what looks like an industrial zone (thanks Arioch), are we going with "Lumber Mills are an improvement"?

It could be, but it's weird to have coffee on par with wheat and rice as a food resource, or as an Ancient Era strategic resource. It became increasingly popular after the 17th century, and accessible after the 19th. I'd be surprised if it's anything but a luxury resource - or whatever the Civ VI's term is.

I want to say only one thing - awesome graphics,
AWESOME !

It reminds me in some way the beautiful Civ 3. Don't know why...
Definitely not the <snip> Civ 4 and Civ 5 art styles...

Thanks Firaxis, thanks Take2 Interactive...
I hope they will not change the graphics style until 21. October and i will play again series of this game after Civ 3 The conquests :)

I posted this earlier today in the wrong forum…
From toft's post in the features thread:
I would point out that the three official 2K screen shots are all of the same scene, just zooming out.
screen shot one: Boat in the middle left, hex of forest immediately to the right, two district hexes, then the city center. (Do we know what those districts are? And what buildings are there?)
screen shot two: Most of the scene, of course, is taken up by many other details, but you can still find that boat, now in the upper left corner. And you can track tiles to right in a neat line: forest, district, district, city center. Also note Crater Lake NW in the lower right hand corner.
screen shot three: Very zoomed out, but you can find (middle, about 10 o'clock) the same boat and four hexes a row (forest, district, district, city) … and Crater Lake has the same relative position (middle, 5 o'clock). (Which is how I noticed that all three screen shots were of the same scene.)

I, for one, would welcome more labeling of all the features, like some kind folks did for the OP screen shots. People have identified barracks and other buildings and districts, but I am still not clear on most of these. Thanks!

No, it's definitely a hand shovel in a bag of coffee ! Next question is to determine whether it's arabica or robusta ;).
If Coffee is in the game, I hope they make this resource spawn around the middle ages because it wasn't a tamed resource until the fourteenth century !

Is there somewhere where all of the screenshots from articles are being compiled?
