Screenshot analysis!

And some religion notes:

1. I just checked and it has been know before, but I didn't notice. There is a Pantheon "Goddess of the Harvest", giving Faith equal to other's yield quantity when harvesting a resource or removing a feature. "Feature" means woods, marsh, rainforest and the like? That looks like a really brutal way how to gain faith to rush buy early Great Prophet.

2. There seems to be 4 religions allowed in a game which has 6 civilizations - map looks like 6 civ map, and there is 3/4 counter in right upper corner of religious screen (and 3 are already founded). IIRC it was the same in Civ5 (4 on Small map, 5 on Standard map), right?

Yeah, it was typically 1/2 of standard civs on that map+1

Did you see a new type swordsman at 1:33 in Gandhi video? They are in top of the screen, between spice and mercury. I think they have saber with strange shield.

Units have aesthetic variants for different civs in Civ VI, so we're seeing Indian Spearmen and Swordsmen in that vid. They're looking pretty cool!

Too bad this doesn't extend to modern units. What we've seen so far everyone is using T-80 tanks.

That may have just been the builds used. It is still possible that they could make the modern units more diversified.

I really want to see modern unit diversity. No more Hinds for America and Leopards for England. Rise of Nations can do it. And its designer previously worked on Civ.

If some civ gets unique spearmen they can give Varu trouble.. :)

By the time India could build 6 Varu, they are likely to face Pikemen.

Also. don't forget - on high difficulty levels AI will build a lot of resourceless units, since they have production bonus while still having limited resources. And resourceless units means Spears/Pikes and Archers - those who are quite effective against Varu.

(on India video at this point (1:10) there's some infantry on upper left corner, do those have a bit different graphics than the ones we've seen before?

I think it looks like it but the camera moves so quickly..)

Nah it's the same as in other videos. Wish we get distinct infantry and musketmen on release or patch.

A unique unit people don't seems to talk much about is the Garde Imperiale which is a 65 strength unit during the time other civs are still on the musket 55 strength. This unit get +10 strength if it is on France home continent and get great general points then it kills enemies.

Unique units are a very important part in civ VI, they are not just slightly better, they are far superior.
Its a bit different isnt it? Garde and the redcoat are the civ 5 equivalent of a rifleman. Theyre in the next era of industrial. While the musketman is for renaissance. True other civs wont have a comparable melee unit, but i think the time difference nullifies a lot of the strength bonus

Is it possible that the Acropolis is an improvement like Indian Stepwell versus a District...I agree with previous posters that it shouldn't be a building replacement.

I recall the screenshot naming the Acropolis didn't say "Acropolis District"

It said, "District: Acropolis ".

If the other civs don't have a comparable melee unit, then I don't see how the time difference "nullifies" anything -- they'll still be using Musketmen against Imperial Guard even if they're at the same tech level. They'll have Cavalry and better artillery, but their infantry is still going to be significantly outclassed.

It's a very significant bonus; France and England essentially have an Industrial era tier of infantry that everyone else lacks.

There will be 1 civ UU and it's possible to have additional leader UU. So Greece could have Phalanx for Greece, Trireme for Pericles and something else for Gorgo (likely Slinger replacement).

Yes.
My current guess is that the Greeks UU will be the Hoplite and Pericles' LUA will include Triremes.
