Fortunately, he ended face down in the dirt, a welcomed sight when he's your opponent.

I decided to copy Luckymoose with a game as Mexico, except I didn't bother with "alliances". Conquered Latin America (including the Panama Canal), the Pacific States of America, and the Midwest. Right now is September 1938, and I'm not sure whether to screw CSA or AFUP first.
I will probably go into South America once North America is taken care of. I will probably puppet the eastern USA and keep Latin America & the Pacific.

Civ5 attempt at a coastal invasion. First few turns went wonderfully, took the two cities quickly, then it bogged down into First World War battles as I tried to take the capital.
