Recently started playing a mod for TEW 2013, it starts in 1996 so I've been playing almost a year in game.

I'm playing as the World Wrestling Federation just before the dawn of the attitude era. My childhood reborn :D

 Unsurprisingly, most of them have terrible stats. Dealing with them in-game might actually be worse than it is for Michael on the show.

Downloaded the demo for "World Stage", a game thats totally not EU3 redesigned by a 3 year old.

I looked for a long time for some sort of closure on the whole Magna Mundi debacle. After seeing this I'm satisfied in a way. The guy went absolutely crazy.

Surprisingly, no crashes. Too bad it's filled with gameplay breaking bugs and all other kinds of stupidity.

Oh god that brings back memories of the Magna Mundi beta.

That game was broken beyond belief.

This was my favorite.

Fear started to creep in...
Fear because this ragtag developer built a brand on its own and out of nothing, fear because of its networking abilities were enabling it to find and coordinate talents worldwide, fear because Universo Virtual was delivering milestone after milestone at a meagre price, fear because UV was able to raise the interest of the community while having absolutely nothing to show for almost a year, fear for the nearly unmatched popularity of the dev diaries of Magna Mundi, fear because this upstart company was in effect acting like a producer not a developer, fear for UV’s assertive behaviour when calling Paradox on past promises, fear because out of a slight intended to hurt the capabilities of the team this amateur developer was able to force Paradox hand in surrendering a better renderer, fear because in the only instance Magna Mundi was shown to the mainstream strategy press with any kind of popularity rating, it got to second place out of more than 11000 titles for a day, was in sixth place for a few more days and in fourteenth for about a week, marks that surpassed Paradox flagship titles by far (regarding that batch of previews, best result for Sengoku was 113th, best result for Crusader Kings 2 was 42nd). Fear also for the way it seemed to sense danger and tricks and other low blows. Fear for the unpredictability of its actions or way of thinking no matter the tricks employed to monitor it. Fear.

More Medieval Warfare screenies. At one point, the map designed for like, twelve people, ended up lagging down to a frame every five seconds once the bodies began piling up.

Glorious H6K master race.

Duh decided to ram Wellen with his bomber for the lulz.

Now, the ability for the ground vehicles to spread out when attacked is both neat and annoying, but I didn't know they could drive up cliffs!

ORYG1N held some custom battles and livestream with Golden Eagles as prizes. It was a lot of fun and glorious in motion (due to most players using their aerobatic smoke trails). The first battle was who could ram him first?

Then we had to shoot him down with biplanes while he flew a jet. Cassious974 on the left got the kill.

Next he parked his B-17 on a runway and we had to use biplanes to shoot him down (while he was repairing on it too!). I got the kill :D

Red Orchestra 2: Rising Storm

Defending Kwajalein Atoll from the American invaders using every advantage we can get.
Spoiler :

Something I didn't expect to see, a double win for the Axis on Hanto (Japan attacking with mostly rifles, Americans with SMGs, semi-autos and MGs defending).

It was in large part due to well coordinated banzai charges with my artillery strieks and SLs putting out smoke. Special thanks to Cpt. Henry.

Hey Manical, can you answer a question I have about Rising Storm?

Pre-purchase gets us beta access, so why does it say this? Just a legal trivia requirement?

Also $5 off the 15% discount, presumably because I have the original RO2?

e6CJPPN.png

Because the beta is a separate download/game (which will be removed when the game releases) and the full game will be "DLC" for RO2 and share the same .exe and server browser. It also won't show up until the game releases (30th iirc).

You get a 40% discount if you already own RO2 (15% + 25%).

I so rarely get to play with cavalry that here I decide to put them to their greatest advantage: weakening my line, I send one regiment of cavs behind enemy lines to harrass their artillery. (This is the opening skirmish of the Battle of Gettysburg, Heth vs. Buford's cavalry.)

risky2.jpg

That worked well. :p

(That one band took out three Confederate batteries.)

The Sims 2...can be weird.

In another session of Sid Meier's Gettysburg!...flanking early allowed me to drive an entire Federal brigade away before their reinforcements could arrive. My own reinforcements arrived just in time to save one of my regiments, which had been far forward, from being devoured by the newly arriving Yanks. This is well after that: you can see the remains of the first Federal brigade to the north, while I'm busy crushing the second. There was also action far to the west.

I really wish Waterloo was playable on my PC. It's the same engine, but with more emphasis on cavalry and a lot more playing options -- troops can occupy buildings, form into squares, that sort of thing. Alas, progress has made modern PCs incapable of running a lot of older games. I don't even know how Sid Meier's Civil War collection manages it.
