Yeah it uses P2P to download so it tends to be a bit slow, although you also want to turn off seeding in the launcher options menu after you download too

Like many people in the world, I have bandwidth restrictions and my upload rate is pathetic. I don't need a multi-gigabyte game seeding itself endlessly, especially if I am playing other MP games.

You don't have to seed endlessly, just do so for a couple of hours and stop it
