I just reinstalled SC4 this week, and I have been working hard on trying to figure out what kind of city I want to build, but...

My God! At that deficient, you'll run out of cash in four to five years! I strongly suggest you build a military base.
Despite the fact that I am an avid ActionRPG-random-loot-style-games fan, Torchlight 2 should appeal to me. However I got Torchlight 1 and never really enjoyed it that much. Something seemed... lacking.
I think it had to do with the really bland game world. I can't remember the classes, any of the enemies, or any of the dungeons. It's just a brownish mass of explosions, and the loot was kind of boring too. I hope Torchlight 2 has a stronger theme. I don't know. Can't say Diablo 3 got much better in that department though. I was checking out a few that are in development like Path of Exile.

TL2 is a major improvement over TL1. It feels... right. The UI is just polished. The way skills and leveling up is handled are refreshing as well. The music, oh gods the music, sets the mood. The only problem is the storyline isn't particularly fantastic, but it doesn't degrade the game. Overall, I feel like I'm playing an evolved Diablo 2. A proper step forward in the genre.

It's not clearly explained at all in the game, but most of those events have particular triggers where your total funds are below some figure, I'd guess $20k, and you have dropped by X% over the last two or three years. Plus a population requirement or some other little thing. And I don't think I've ever seen an initial payment, that would have been a cool feature to utilize.
The text in the event window is useless and incorrect.

I was carving out a base underground when I came back up to find these two dudes hanging around. They weren't harming anyone, so I kept them alive. It's lonely on my island, and I could use the company.

Whenever I try to use BDcraft the grass textures bug out and have little portals and flames on the sides of them. What version of BDcraft are you using?

That is because you are either using an older version or don't have it installed correctly.

I use the version they put up on their main website... And it's fairly difficult to screw up installing a texture pack, considering its click-and-drag.

It could just be the wrong resolution. I installed 512x and it didn't work, but I added 128x instead and it works fine.
