in a fight between an average adult male and an average adult woman karate blackbelt, the male would absolutely dominate. There are some women out there who are pretty tough, (mainly some crazy muay thai chicks), but on average karate black belts are given out like candy so it really doesn't mean much.

All out self defence
measured self defence( if she pulls out a gun you do and so on)

I've just had a argument with a friend he thinks it completely wrong to hit a girl While i think i its wright to hit a girl in self defence.

It is my personal policy to balance two objectives when engaged in armed or unarmed combat. This policy is effective regardless of who the opponent is or what gender the opponent may be. Those two objectives are to act within the law to ensure that I do not go to jail and the second objective is to cause as much harm as possible, to my opponent, up to and including permanent disability and/or death. I have to try to achieve balance between the two objectives as they are often at odds with each other. Ultimately, I want to ensure that my opponent is either incapable of or unwilling ever to engage in combat, with me, ever again.

I don't care who you are or what gender you may be, if you engage in any form of combat with me, you'd better be prepared to fight to the death.

depends, if she just hit me, i would probably just take it and walk away. if it was more i would try to stop her. But if she had a knife or something, and i got it away from her without getting stabed i would give her a little stab. (nothing deadly just facial scaring for ever)

If you have overwelming physical dominance over anyone - kid, woman or sorry arsed bloke - then there is no call for violence. Gender is a good guide along these lines, but anyone who you have such physical power over you are capable of restraining them at minimal risk it is immoral to slap them around.

Well..... I'm a male feminist.

It means I can hit women just as I'd hit a man. I don't have to open doors for them, I can go first in line..... don't have to keep worrying about toilet seat positions.... etc etc.

An appropriate level, of course. If a girl is just sort of reaching for me to smack me, and obviously doesn't know how to fight, I'd probably keep out of her reach, or at most trip her and tell her to knock it off. If she is only an annoyance, and not isn't strong enough to seriously threaten me, then I probably wouldn't even smack her around.

If she's got a knife or a gun, or some other weapon, then as far as I'm concerned, there is no limit on what I can do to defend myself, be it punching her or kicking her in the face and breaking her jaw, nose and cheekbones, or just breaking her arm. Once she isn't a threat, I would stop, of course - but as long as she is a threat, I don't see why I should treat her more gently than I would a man. I'm not about to let myself get seriously hurt because I didn't want to hurt a woman - if she doesn't want to get seriously hurt, she shouldn't threaten serious harm to others.

Measured Level. I like to imobolise my combatants' arms in Self defence. But if something like a gun is pointed at me, its a 'you or me' moment.
