Gaul, Byzantium and Dramatic Ages!!! Very exciting! I am looking forward to playing as Gaul and the dramatic ages.

Looks like Gaul won't be copying leader animations.

In before @Zaarin goes nuts over Gaul.

For those who can't watch the video:
2 New civs, Gaul and Byzantium, leaders still unknown.
2 New districts, still unknown. (These are probably going to be civ-specific variants, not completely new a la Diplomatic quarter.)
2 New world wonders, the biosphere that grants appeal to marsh and swamp, as well as tourism and power in GS (science to swamp, rainforest, and forest in R&F/Vanilla), and the statue of zeus, that grants three military units in the city that builds it and permanently reduces the production cost of anti-cavalry.
Highlands map: No ocean, mostly hills with some rainforest and desert thrown in.
"Dramatic Ages" game mode. There are no normal ages after the ancient era. Instead of dedications, the same effects are on golden and dark age policy cards. Dark ages result in cities rebelling instantly, and exerting loyalty pressure. Extra era score is turned into loyalty pressure against other civs (as opposed to being "wasted"). In this mode, Georgia's ability is changed to the ability to use dark age cards in a golden age, and vice versa.

Ooh! Two civs I'm interested in. This doesn't bode well for Portugal! However maybe Byzantium being lumped in with Europe bodes well for Babylon having a middle eastern pack? OTOH Babylong and Portugal would be good selling points for another frontier pass....

ADUATUCA is the Gallic capital.

... Ambiorix???

Probably Dromon UU

Gaul Unique District looks like an Encampment of sorts, but it doesn't replace the regular Encampment, you can see both at the same time

Wow... I really NEVER expected to see my hometown BIOSPHERE as a world wonder in Civ... like... EVER ! Speechless...

Really not sure about dramatic mode, but very happy to see that they kept it, as promised, much more outside of fantasy elements end more in historical nature.

And the civs announced are a real surprise to me...a good one ;-) Vercingetorix ?

i think you're assuming things here... those 2 encampments can very easily be from 2 differents cities too

Would be a huge surprise if it won´t be Vercingetorix ;)

Yeah but it's the same civilization... LSS is not able to build an Observatory and a Campus at the same time.

Plus, it's too different to be an Encampment. Even in other Unique Districts, the place of buildings stay the same. It looks like a Unique Districts, just we have to know which kind of buildings would fit in it :)

My guess would be that Gauls'UI would be an Industrial Zone replacement that can defend itself too

So it doesn't replace the Encampment, but does act like one.

Byzantines were expected, but Gaul is a very exciting surprise.
Biosphere is a cool inclusion for more late game wonders, finally something dedicated to the environment and ecology.
And finally Statue of Zeus, the 7 wonders of the ancient world are finally complete.

The theme sounds like it could be Byzantine Industrial... It certainly does have a sound of great triumph to it. And vocals! :D
