Heheh i think 24 notice and then 48 to play is normal. Keep in mind some folks play tons of these things simul.

I'm normally a builder too, but we are so cramped for space that it is going to be either them or us... and if I have a say it's going to be them 
The sooner we take them out the better as out infrastructure will then suffer less and we can take them before they get too powerful. As long as they don't make contact with others then it won't hurt our per either

As long as they don't make contact with others then it won't hurt our per either i have to agree with harleqin, we should go to war as soon as possible, maybe we should wait for iron working, but i think an army of 8-10 archers should also be enough to weaken the germans significantly. they should be our first goal, as they are equally strong and they are usually very aggressive...i tried the savegame and managed to raze leipzig with 3 or 4 warriors that are wandering around...so joshnsnaz, maybe you should give it a try, but you decide if its too risky or not...rain, maybe we can relax and build later when germany and japan are history hmmm, somewhere i read warfaring lies in the nature of male mankind, what u say?
ah, final note...i think we should found the new city also very soon, i would still suggest the place between leipzig and tokyo although its a little bit crowded, but still a good spot...any comments?

By rights Leipzig should be our city. Why a little to the east of Leipzig their are pigs rooting for truffles.
