Wow, I just checked the save. McBalth, you did a perfect job on the hammer overflow. Better than I would have done. After this turn Life Support will have only 2 hammers left, so there will be a huge overflow, essentially shaving a full turn off our launch date.
Ha! That is great! I wish I could take credit for it! Alas, hammer overflow is one of those civ mysteries I'm just now getting a grip on... and even then I could only be called half-way competent with it -- in the early game with good visibility and few modifier complications. Which isn't to say I'm not ecstatic that it worked out so perfectly right now. (At least I didn't screw it up like I could have!)
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I'm sure it was tag-teaming the marble quarry/mine with Liz' workers that set up the overflow. The last time the mine got changed back to a quarry it bumped the Life support up a turn, which put it in sync with Robotics finishing so I left it alone. It must have been the production difference between the mine and the quarry that set up the big overflow.
We did shave a turn off. It was only 12 turns from when we got plastics.
Liz was able to build the DockingBay in 3 turns. The DB is only 900 hammers for her!?! I didn't realize the AI gets a 55% discount.
I built 1 more worker since switching off research didn't delay robotics. That way I had 4 workers and 4 forests.
After LifeSupport got to 1 turn left:
I gave Liz our deer, and cancelled her gift of sheep to us. She immediately took a citizen out of the ocean and made another engineer...nice.
I did that mine one more time and Liz didn't change it back to a quarry...hmm nice too.
My workers did nothing for 2 turns while the DB was being worked on. On the 3rd turn, I chopped all the forests (Liz gets -5 food for that), so her city starved on the final turn.
That was the smoothest finish I could imagine and I don't mean my last few turns. More like the last 100 turns were textbook space race. After that nasty GW attacked us ages ago (seems like that in real time too) everything seemed to happen the way we planned/hoped...maybe even a bit better than we hoped. Great work guys. I had so much fun!

Wooohooo! Very nicely done. Great job team! WastinTime gets the MVP trophy imho, but I think I learned a lot from just about everyone on the team. Thanks again for the opportunity BLubmuz (& everyone). I hope I'll get invited back next time too.
So, what happens now? Are we free to check out the other threads yet?
Congrats on your win Fifth Element! Very fast space race for this setup, especially considering your unplanned war against George. Good job managing that one.
One thing that puzzled me was your posts stating that the continent was not big enough for domination when it was IIRC 9 tiles over the limit - were you not counting peaks?
Zoooooooom!! Nice one, team, that was an excellent launch. I wish I could've been more help in the second half. So we could've dominated this continent for the win... I don't even recall getting the map for the rest of the south for a long time. We were too scared of the diplo situation, and had pretty much decided on SR by that time. We may have been inflexible in that sense, but it was a good plan and well played, and any win on deity is impressive.

Nope but this was well after when we were dead set against domination and realized what you all were up to, plus if you look back we guessed that the map setup would require a departure from the continent to make it which was one justification for a SR attempt.
