I think two galleys is a good solution. :goodjob: I'm assuming that WT won't like it though just like he has something against home-grown workers. ;)

    I’m still optimizing the research.

Remaining question would be lighthouse or granary in Silver first?

By default, isn't granary first a no-brainer everywhere?

Omg!!!! I just realized what this scenario is all about! NZ is forcing WT to build everything he hates the most: monuments, workers,…

Hey, WT! What else do you hate to build?

Don't forget that there is a beaker difference between the real game and the test game.

Also, the builds in Canal are different too (i.e. real game has hammers in wb).

I'm sure that you're already taking this into account but it's just a reminder.

    One-Galley Alternative

T51-52 Joan boards galley at Sci-4s3e
    T53 Joan lands at marble-n.
T61 S7 lands on NE Isle
    T62 Lucia joins S7
T69 stone wkrs board galley from marble-n...

This solution necessitates conceiving Lucia. Immaculately.

Drawback: If NE Isle is a bust, when and how do we get our settler back? — I estimate minimally this would delay the galley to T73 arrival at marble, assuming NE Isle is similar to Stone but 3 tiles deep. It could be much larger. It could have two sites better than Whales.

Incidentally, if NE Isle turned out to have two beautiful sites, in the two-galley scenario that whales settler could arrive at NE Isle realistically around t68, assuming time to first find out that it’s worth having those two sites there.

    Go wtih 2 galleys.

    wealth, and
Every building other than granary. lighthouse (sometimes rax, forgefactory/power).
I don't even build courthouses on score games anymore. Just use STRIKE.

    Oh yeah.

The other reason to explore NE Isle sooner is to find out before we settle whales if we really want to use our sixth settler on whales.

I don’t think so with coastal but I’m not certain. Especially if we want to work the silver mine and 1whip the bldg with 0f stored up. It may also depend on border expansion and available nets. Plus we can start the lh a turn sooner.

i think lh first only has a chance of coming out even with granary if you're going to ONLY work water tiles, and even then, probably it's granary 1st.
Oh, unless you're doing OF into GLH. Then it's lh 1st.
    excellent point.

Ok. I’m going to try to work out some sort of optimal research plan. And I’m going to examine silver on the granary versus lh first question. Then I’ll be ready to ask for green lights.

    Final questions:
    1. T52 Science: Build what? Worker, warrior, scout, chariot, SH, stele, wealth?
    2. T53 Silver cowboy. Road deer? (Will cause supply cost pressure next turn.)
    3. T53 Joan. Farm Sci-1n or head toward galley?
    4. T52 pop3 Canal. 1whip wb into granary to grow sooner or work 2 forests to 1whip granary sooner?

how about we save some of those decisions til later.
for now, i'd say Cowboy does Whales-silver, but not of course if we abandon Whales.
    Joan. prefer farm
Canal: probably do what's best for the food level
Science: maybe an MP unit if we can support it. Anyone count our unit costs lately. what about with 6 cities?

Cows becomes unhappy at pop6 with only silver roaded. Furs not.

I like chopping Silver-2s2w. Can’t spread anywhere. Gets the granary done faster.

the chop is a good idea. But maybe not at the expense of Whales getting started. I was trying to get it set up to contribute 60h OF around T63-65...or at least by T70, so keep that in mind.
And no, I wouldn't be happy with growing it to size 2 and whipping immediately. It needs to pay for itself with silver as much as possible. I has a Whales plan somewhere.

Duly noted. Will pause to discuss on T53 after dumping S7 but before moving Cowboy to Silver forest.

    Ready to play!
