[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

fyi, every city needs a Dun eventually. We can do this 50h overflow thing simultaneously or at different times.
Shame we can't use a spy to sabotage our own walls.

Ha! I forgot about doubling up the trade and pillaging. :goodjob:

The Silver deer timed with a 2whip so we aren’t using the deer maybe.

The problem is, it doesn’t work work well with Oracle in Profit if we get Phood the same turn as stone. Might as well just build the Oracle at 4hpt. But we can use it well on failgold.

On T33 the Max AI hammer production jumped to 11hpt from 5hpt. That sure seems like a 100% multiplier build. It stayed at 11 until it just went up to 13. SH could be about to fall.

i don't understand why not
but we will probably have stone first anyway
6t at 8hpt to get to 48/50 for an extra 20h whereas building the oracle give 24h. In other words, might as well pre-build rax. Actually slightly better, except we don’t need rax. But we could still use the dun later for 60 failgold.

So let me get this straight, we can whip 1 pop and get 100:hammers: into GW. Or build Henge in 1 turn :king: (edit: oops, no it's 120h not 100h)
What a great way to jumpstart failgold. We just have that setup time between getting stone and prepping the Dun.

I played around in the test game but I can't get the timing to work.

I had 96/50 in walls after whipping. I gave the stone and horse to Zara (our test game SB). Now I tried two things:

1. End turn, pillage horse - I did not have access to stone until the following turn.
2. Pillage horse, end turn - I had stone at the start of the turn after the whip but I only had +25 OF hammers (96-50)/2 = 23 + 2? hammers from organic build (should have been +9).

I'm not sure how to get +50 raw hammer OF.

Can someone else get it to work in the test game? Attached is the test game I was using.

The trade-off you’re making with this trick is empire-wide access to stone + [other resource] for 1t:

1. Whip max OF with 100%-multiplier resource.
2. Gift away all copies of that resource.
3. End turn.
4. When Sid calculates your OF he doesn’t divide by 2 because you don’t have the resource.
5. Pillage other resource to cancel trade...

Profit can still use the stone tile ofc.

Your thinking is leading to another trick tho. We could retain access to the other resource throughout if we gift one of two copies and then pillage both next turn and re-improve one the same turn.
Horse for instance after Whales culture includes the horse ...

Or only road the silver fur and the fourth cow fur after 100 :culture:!

I assume this doesn’t affect our trade relations with SH. So the only catch is, we’re limited to overflows each turn into the number available wonders. Hopefully Stonehenge, great wall, Moai.

Sig test.

The walls trick is great, but as LC said, it won't help Oracle much. Here's where I stand on Oracle (in case all my waffling has you confused)

Skip IW. (Oracle is coming too fast)
Net crab T60 (don't be late or Oracle is delayed)
Stone T63 (no wiggle room, must have 2 workers start T60 or Oracle is delayed)
Oracle T81

Profit : T53-59 : Work forest instead of coast (for 14/60 granary)
T60-61 :crab
T62 (grow) : crab + forest 18/60 granary
T63-64 : crab + stone (26/60 granary)
T65 : Priesthood/Oracle
T70 (grow to 3) work whale
T79: (grow to 4) whip granary (crab + stone)
T80: Complete Oracle with 2 chops with zero to spare. (If I counted correctly)

CoL should be there in time IIF the AI completes SH or GW in the early T70's (or late 60's)
If it's after T75, we probably have to delay Oracle waiting for CoL.

Notes on PPP Draft 2

1. Prioritizes:
  • Stone quarry T63
  • Profit nets T60
  • Early inland exploration of NE Isle
  • Development of Canal
  • Cows growth to pop6
  • Galleys for each island
2. Works with IW beeline or not.
3. Substitutes NE Isle land exploration for wb.
4. Neglects NW exploration.
5. Neglects additional wbs for Silver.
6. Pottery T53 requires slower growth in Cows, or other.

Final note: I am not asserting any strategy here. All open to further discussion. My reason for earlier inland NE Isle exploration is in case there is a useful strategic resource. I looked for a rationale balance of our priorities.
