[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

Ok, so T116 St.Pete or 117 Mosow. Are we friendly by then if we pay to switch him to confu? or T122 when we get +3 shared civic? or OB?
In theory, by T115 we could bribe Peter into Confu and be Friendly.

+1 Peace
+1 OB
+1 shared resources on T115
+1 shared your techs with us (5 techs)
+2 civic
+1 religion
+4 fair trade

Might be a reason to send 2 missionaries instead of one to make sure things go smoothly.
Around 10%? Chance to fail during spread if city already has 1 religion.
Sure, play on.
Speaking of Friendly, We might be getting IW from SB. Is it at T115 shared religion, or T117 from OB
SB should reach Friendly on T117 from OB.

I mentioned the chariot coulda been dropped at Crab-1W, meet an AI 1t turn sooner. I'm sure it doesn't matter.
:goodjob: MG! You got us our GS. That's the most important.

I say we prop up SB a little bit. Let's start with Medi for OR+20. Then, in a turn or so, or if/when he has some more $, sell him Math.
I know we are afraid of alpha/spies poisoning Canal, but he can't do it that many times, and will he do that at pleased? or Friendly?
The good thing is, once he spends EPs, we can see his research, right?
He's gonna get alpha eventually. I'd rather get poisoned before the GoldenAge.
He could easily get Aes or Construction for us if we take away his likely picks (medi, math, alpha)

Well played, MG!!! :goodjob:

Guys, I don’t have enough free attention to do my turnset justice. So I am going to SKIP my turnset.

I’m not sure who’s up. I thought it was Mitch, but my schedule on page 1 shows Kait.

Well done Mirrorguard.
I see the Dun hat dance went off perfectly, so we should get lots of benefits in about 10 turns.

We have Alphabet, Monarchy, Wine, Peter got flipped into Caste/Bureau, and most important we lucked into early Philosophy bulb.
Now we just have to go and get it. :crazyeye:
Just pray he doesn't start building Angkor Wat (500:hammers: double with stone) at the worst possible time causing Philo to slip through our fingers.

So be it!

Kait, you’re up!!!
I've got the Real Save.

Will work on it some tonight.

Kind of neat that us, Peter, and Sitting Bull are in our own little world, and the 4 AI are in theirs.
Which old-time religion is dominant down there anyway?
We need to butter up to them.

Peter converted to Taoism. Now Moscow has Taoism.
This had to be free spread, so he will have at least 3 cities with Tao in a couple turns and probably all of them by the time we get there.
Philo/Tao might be a case of 'be careful what you wish for'.
Even with 2 missionaries, (and lucky enough they don't fail) I don't think we can get him to agree to switch. Even with 4 miss. I would be afraid that 3 spreads of 4 are not enough.
This will have to be our long term plan, but we need a short term plan.

I want a spy built in 1t, this turn, in Whales
T107, when we go 0% research, I wanna go 100% EPs on Peter and see what he's up to.
Doing this before Oxford is wise.

Why?
We need to know by T111 if he's doing MC or Feudal for us and we're gonna need those EPs to flip his religion. He may do both! and we could research...Compass?

Why do we need a spy?
We will not be able to ask him to switch to confu.
The spy will either steal tech (like MC) or convert Peter for 5 turns if that would make him Friendly.

I've seen the AI settle half way around the world to get metal. Peter needs metal.
I give him a 90% chance he already settled the Crab+Copper. Can we tell by looking closely at the map?

We can do a spy op here. Our missionaries have to travel all the way to Moscow, etc.
Worst case, our spy can get to Peter's mainland in a reasonable time (but he'll need a ride, cus he walks too slow)

We’ll want Confu in his nearest big city for the spy operation. Hopefully also get the 20% TR discount. We can check which of his cities have TRs with us by comparing EP costs in his cities.

How about whipping a courthouse in canal and running a spy there? Canal city now has dun OF hammers and 3rd seafood netted. If we get G.spy, it can be used in Russia. If GS or G.artist, we will need it sooner or later.

Interesting thought, but not a fan of trying to get a spy. Just deal with it if we get one. And, we are somewhat likely to use it for the GAge anyway.
And, I don't know that I want a courthouse. University is better spent population.
And, that spy, if we did get it would take a long time to give us our EPs.
We can keep ch in mind for the whip plan before Banking. We'll see if it makes the cut.

We can tell if Russia has a 6th city any time we feel like spending 5 gold for his map.

Ya, if Sitting Bull poisons our water, we can probably see what he is teching.

If we send a spy, change religion has the lowest odds to succeed of any spy mission.

Will Russia really say "not enough of our people follow that faith" if we spread to 2 of his big cities and try to bribe him?

Worst case scenario, 5 turns before golden age we revolt to no religion and get Philosophy.
Then 5 turns later, GA, back in Confu, Pacifism+Caste.
No spies, ep, or missionaries needed.
Just 1 turn of Anarchy.

100% slider one turn to see what Peter is teching could really pay off.
When to do it, hmm

We need Courthouses in Whale City, Silver City, and Canal City long term.
Before or after forges is the question.

I'm not trying to get great spy. I'd be happier to get a great scientist. The fact that we will use ep slider makes 1 ep=1 gold and this fact changes return rate of courthouse and spy specialist. A spy gives 4 beaker 3 ep/gold which is better than scientist by 1g. +2ep from courthouse can be considered as 2gold.

You have a point.
However, these EPs are too late for any effort we make to get MC or Feudal and Philo.
Later, we hopefully have a plan for Friendly Tao Peter, and we don't need to ever send missionaries or ask/flip him to confu.
