SGOTM6 - Xteam

I'm sure I missed a few. I didn't include islands because I've no idea whether we can get a boat in range in time, and I didn't look hard for aggrssive spots as we are not in good shape to go upsetting people.

Are you going to let us in on the secret, or do we have to guess where yours are?

I modifed your big map here.. some aggressive settlements, thou I would not worry about that if it was a solo game.

dotmap

Edit: I missed one spot down in x-mongolia

Oh well, at least I kept the spam (water) flowing :D

Well spotted, Gyathaar. At this rate we won't need to fight for any more territory. And of course, you're correct to say that we are better off settling aggressively than declaring war to get territory.

We can also expect that some of our borders will expand to give us access to yet more aggressive settlements, and we may yet be gifted some towns as a result of cultural flips.

Thanks for provoking the posts, Captain. I don't think we have a problem there either. I'm not even sure I agree that we are spamming - this is all good, clean, relevant discussion :D

While in analytical mood, if we run for 20 more turns we'll add 64 more posts at our current average rate, putting us 45 ahead of tao. They don't have enough turns left to make up that difference, and I'm sure we can equal or exceed their posting rate during the post-game analysis phase.

Thank you both for taking the time to do a thorough map check, excellent job!! :goodjob: :goodjob: RL is eating into game time lately and I wanted to finish GOTM 41 before it got worse!

I suspected that we had more places to settle and you proved it! 58 to 68 more cities ought to get us right about where we want to be. Things are looking rosey! :D

Keep the settlers and mobile shields cooking WillowBrook!! That culture is just rolling along..... :p

Well, our flowing water has slowed to a trickle...

Quick update: we're in 1265, and I think I'm ready to press enter. We have 319 towns and 37937 culture. I think we'll have no problem founding ~10 more towns each of the next two turns, but I've only been able to increase our cpt by 40-50 each turn.

Here's the latest save in case anyone is curious. Feel free to let me know if anything else should be done; I'll play a bit more tomorrow morning.

I think I'm going to have a bunch of time this weekend, so I should be able to play a full 10 turns if that's what the team wants. Gator's schedule is important - if he also has time to play this weekend, he should probably take it once I've played five.

Yes, tao also seem to be posting up a small storm currently. I wonder what's going on over there :hmm:

I'll wait for Gator to comment on the schedule, but as long as you are enjoying it, and able to concentrate on each move as you now, I'd say go for 10.

If you can, just play more. I don't want to to come back to me. :p

I see you followed Alans dotmap? you wasted one city spot by settling Purple Moo-moo where you did.. :)
Also try to get the cities around french capital placed before it get culture expansion in a few turns :p

Seems like last version of CrpMapStat still give incorrect cpt values..

It shows 37937(+1804) for the last save, but
37937-36156= 1781
civassist also shows 1781

@Willow - take 10 if you can. I can play some this weekend but I also need to work a little. So not being up here will help me to work, seeing it's the last weekend of tax season. But if you're getting burned out feel free to pass it on.

This is what the increased number of cities lately has done to the per city statistics :)

@Gyathaar - oops, didn't consult the dot map. I tried to be careful in placing the towns, and then was going to check the map to see what I missed. And thanks for the advice about France's new capital; I hadn't thought of that. And nice graph!

@Gator - I'll see how things go. I'll likely post Saturday sometime. And I also have to do my taxes one of these days, as you've just reminded me.

Both Tao and Peanut should be done so they are probably in post analysis mode and either patting themselves on the back for squeaking ahead of Peanut or they are trying to figure out how Peanut beat them by a turn. Or they are doing the math to see if Xteam can pass them both.

As keeper of the books I'll have to plead the 5th on that.

I'm guessing based on how close they both were to finishing and the amount of time that has passed since they last posted a save.

Good news for Alan, leif and Tomoyo: if Willow takes 10 and I take 10 then Gyathaar should be able to finish it up for us. But we'll have to see how much time I have when it comes my way.

I take that as a promise??

Let's hope so, the culture curves above seem to indicate that we need to pick up the pace on cultural development. I should have built more cities during my turns to help Willow keep the culture moving along.

I have learned a great deal about culture and I think I'll stick with warmongering!!

The curves just tell us what we already know. Culture per city is stabilising at 12. That's equivalent to temple+library+Cathedral+university per city on average. The fact that it's so high means we need more cities with low culture that can build it, and we certainly can't expect it to get much higher. CPT per city will start growing again once we get the cities we are building no into gear.
