Major Shakeup in Race for PM​

LUXEMBOURG CITY: Ben Fayot today announced the formation of a new electoral party expected to extremely well in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The new party, named One World, is expected to draw numerous representatives from the CSV, LSAP, and Greens. Polls show the CSV, led by François Biltgen, the LSAP, led by Jean Asselborn, and Fayot's One World Party split nearly evenly in the polls. The election as of now is anyone's call.

The One World party has a platform based on the continued unification of the Luxembourg with the world. Fayot is a strong believer in giving the EU more sovereign power. He also is interested in strengthening ties between the Benelux countries.

Prime Minister Romano Prodi stood up and walked to the podium where cameras and reporters were watching.

"Citizens of Italy. In light of the recent terroist attacks on Rome, I have increased our troop numbers overseas to 20,000 as well as having tanks and helicopters sent to help the world fight terriosm. I have also started to put towards an increased security and preservation project to help keep the ancient buildings in Rome and elsewhere safe from terriosm and mother nature. I ask all citizens to respect the increased security and allow them to work without angry protestors or mobs bugging them. We hope this will help limit the work of terriost against our ancient buildings and preserve them for future generations.

I have also increased funding towards our schools, as our schools are, unfortunatly, not in the best shape, we are better than this, so I hope this can help get some smarter scientists to help the EU with their projects and perhaps find better solutions to our problems at home. All I want from you is your full cooperation in defeating terriosm."

The world is becoming increasingly more dangerous. Military tension in some regions, such as Venezuela, Morocco and Taiwan, has increased to levels unprecedented within the recent decades. More importantly, our country’s eastern neighbors show disturbing levels of possibility of danger to Turkey. Iraq has been in turmoil since 2003, Georgia is at war, and Iran has developed nuclear weapons.

In order to preserve the safety of our country, we see the need for increasing military spending. But we also can not allow our neighbors’ problems to slow down our economic progress. So I have to ask you, dear citizens, for a little extra contribution, in the form of a small increase in taxes. The increase will be more for the rich, less for the poor. In overall, this will increase the taxes from 25% to 30% With our rapidly improving economy, even with this increased tax rate, the untaxed income per capita will still be significantly higher compared to last year, regardless of being rich or poor. And as we proved with the success of our economic plans in 2001 and 2008, this government will continue to bring prosperity to the nation.

Our citizens should also know that not all of this additional revenue will be used in military spending, some of it will be used to provide additional funding for municipalities, to improve local services. Anatolian Development Plan will also continue at a fast pace. We shall continue our pursuit of reaching the contemporary level of civilization*, and regional problems shall not deter us from this course.

*: this peculiar wording was used by Ataturk when he advocated for his reforms.

I am extending the order deadline by 24 hours.

The reason being that this brings it into the bi-weekly update schedule I am setting out and getting ready to use ONCE my Warhammer nes also starts. Thus the deadline will remain at Monday 8:30pm every second week (my time).

For those who have stated that they couldnt get their orders in on time, next time learn to organise a little bit better, however please not that this reprieve isnt for you, its for my own purposes and under normal circumstances you would just go without.
