If you have Rush Hour, go to www.simtropolis.com and download the NAM Mod to solve alot of bugs with a few new items thrown in.

In the game
-hold of putting water until you run out of space to spread out.
-never put ,fire stations, police stations, hospitals, schools in the beggining - only put them once you have enough money
-specialize cities - one can be a suburb and next to it an industrial area(you have to be patient enough to cycle back and forth between the cities)

Everytime I try to get back into SimCity, I end up spending my time downloading plugins instead of actually playing. :ack:

Here's my latest project:) :

The upper right shows the names of the cities while the one bellow it shows the transportation map

From The Model Parliament Thread:

Shoraito - District of Isthmus City

p.s. I cheated a lot to make this

Great cities guys!

Jungle Cutter: What type of SimCity are you using, if it is an expansion pack, tell me what the vanilla version of it would be (Example: expansion Pack Number 1 goes with SimCity 3000 etc...) Thanks so much! Once I get a good city, I'll post it here! :)

SimCity 4 Deluxe (SimCity4 + RushHour)
-NAM Mod installed
-patched from Maxis SimCity4 site
-other plugins

Thanks Jungle Cutter! I apprieciate you help! If this thread is active, I will post my city within 3 weeks! O-Rah! :)

Natural gas? Coal is key... go on the Sim City 4 Lot exchange to find air cleaners. All I need now is an air cleaner that cleans pollution from traffic. Great Region transport is meant to be hydrogen powered! Gah!

Small International Airports are HUGE dens of crime. I have two city-wide police stations next to it, or a road across and it's still the the dark orange of Crime, and these stations have their stuff maxed out in effectiveness... what's going on?

Yeah, I built a bunch of industrial in one city then had an avenue going across the city to a road that connected the cities. My -god-, you would not believe the amount of road problems I had from it. Although, commercial buildings grew fast - maybe the 'High' customers helped? :)

Anyways, Subways and bus stations help tons. I built a subway around the industrial and commercial areas, and then finally to the border city (industrial city, 0 pop, 0 com, 11k-something industrial :) fires happen nearly every month with one fire station ). It was amazing the change - 3.5k cars used to go across the road (constant problems) and now 2.5k went in subways. Helped a tremendous amount, and I added an avenue to go into the city to help.

Why not add a highway instead of an avenue? Elevated trains/trains are better than busses, plus they do not add to road traffic.

My city's(Cladstone) save file got lost and deleted BTW :(

I mix and match. A sub station next to a bus station, toll booths on the highway (avenues can become ground-level highways BUT ground level highways cannot support buildings yet arrows point to it but no traffic) and I might have a monorail by the edge or a elevated rail. I leave 5 squares from the edge before I build my gridlock. It helps out a lot when placing things that have a city-wide radius and are out of the way or I need a monorail.

Why do monorails and elevated rails produce air pollution? It's true. They're crowded and air pollution is common around them as well

Nice!:goodjob: I might try it once I get my budget fixed
yeah, but i had to put lot of residential in there, and theyre not interested in my city. maybe i should place some plazas and a monument under 3000 a month and they will come.

edit: i had to raise the taxes on offices to 1 percent to make a profit. but after modernising the city (for 190.000§) with an upgraded metrosystem a highway, a bussystem and two boulevards rossing each other with four plazas at each site of it named after Chrysler, Ford, Rockefeller and Edison and zoning around these plazas, the comercial offices began to show interest in the city. they overbuilded and the taxes went so high that i make a profit of 5.000 a month and have 500.000§ in the budget of the city. the traffic is reduced heavily and dirty industry is scared awy to the neighbouring industrial city which is growing fast too. Man this city is is earning me some money :D:D:D

How do you get Dr. Vu's secret lair? Like what U-Drive it Mission do you have to do? What stuff do you need to get a mission for the Metal Whale? What is needed for a mission with the ice cream truck? Is there an "evil" "profitable" mission for the freight train and the monorail? Also, is there one for the Sky-Diver Plane?

That is why specializing cities is helpful

You need area 51 to get the metal whale, there are no evil missions for freight and monorail. to get the evil sky-diver mission, you need a small landing strip and an industry

I have the landing strip and industry. I have to infiltrate a meeting, which is a good mission as it increase mayor rating and gives no or little money. So what's the evil skydiver plane mission?

Also, what are the evil missions for the Metal Whale? I mean, I don't want to drive a metal whale-shaped thing around that shoots cruise missiles unless it has some kind of purpose.

Also, what missions gets you Area 5.1? I know stealing the rocket formula is one

area 5.1 needs you to complete stealing rocket formula and evil ice cream truck - there is no evil metal whale mission
