"Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children." = Native American Quote

Which way do you think ?

Obviously both are true. The point is how we treat Earth, and in that case we should act like we borrowed it from our children.

Both. We inherited the problems our ancestors caused, but have to make sure we don't mess it up any further for the sake of our children.. and our children's children.

That's consistent with the second option, since your ancestors borrowed the world from you and messed it up.

I inherited my land from my ancestors who were Ottoman Land owners (I can trace them to at least the 1860's).

I like this one better.

"If you live on this land, and you have ancestors sleeping in this land,
I believe that makes you a native to this land.
It has nothing to do with the color of your skin.
I was not raised to look at people racially.
What I was taught is that we're flowers in the Great Spirit's garden.
We share a common root, and the root is Mother Earth."

Oh Shinnah

The future generations matter more.
