atm i can only asume that you use your entire froceunless you've stated otherwhise.

No as i see it you did not indicate how many troops were to join your new commander
and i dont know were to allocate the troops, but i will be fair this is the fisrt update, this will not have too much of an influence on the update. But for the next turn it will have a large effect, we need specific numbers.

An as for my King, I said half.. is it hard to work out what half of my forces are?

Update I 814-816
Entering a New Era​

The world is coming out of the dark ages, in a very old fashion manor. Wars rage through out Europe, and nearly no one is untouched by the conflicts. The most prominent conflict of this new era is the war unfolding on the Iberian Peninsular. Tensions have been flying high between the Muslim Caliphate of Qurtuba and the Christian Nabors to the north, this tension finally escalate, in the form a Frankish attack forcing the Caliphs forces for into the Iberian Peninsular, being taken by surprise there was little that the Caliphs forces could do… coinciding with the Frankish attack the Asturians in the north launch their own campaign against the Muslims. The final member of this coalition against the Caliphate of Qurtuba was the Duchy of Beneventum. The Italians attack was a complete failure, as the Caliph had already organized a grand raid against the Balearic Islands. Balearic Islands was the Duchy’s first goal on the agenda, the navel battle that was to follow left the Duchy’s fleet in bits and pieces, the remainder of the Duchy’s troops where stranded on the Balearic Islands and were forces to make a final last stance. Currently the Duchy still has foothold on the Islands, nearly destroyed these troops pray to god and to their beloved duchy to save them. This was one of the only victories for the Caliph as the Christian coalition; push further into the Muslim heartland. The caliph must seek aid from the greater Muslim world or parish and become a part of ancient history. The main reason for the survival of the Caliphate of Qurtuba was the fact that an immense amount of money was invested in both in education and primitive hospitals. This call was to prove of the utmost importance as it took care for the wounded and provided the much needed knowledge that mustered a potent defence. Yet the borders lie now at the river, with small pockets of the Caliphate’s troops remaining, if these troops do not receive reinforcements they will surely fall to the enemy. These events have shaken the world as we know it; this act of war was only to incite other nations in thoughts of expansion.

To the north in the British isles it would seem to be more peaceful place, The Welsh and the Irish have remained calm in these times of conflict. But it would seem that this peace was to be disturbed. The Scots launched a major offensive into Pict territory. The offensive began in the south push northwards, but soon after the annexation of a greater portion of land, the Picts mounted a grand defence halting the Scots in their tracks. On top of this the Picts were able to outflank their opponent further to the north, even though the Scots had anticipated this there was not much they could do, but eventually they halted the attack. The main reason for the Scots ability to with stand these hammering attacks was the fact that their new social structure saved them. The Highlanders as they was to be known, were a tough people living in discipline and hierarchy. This iron will was the main reason for the Scots success. The Scots still seem to have the upper hand and will survive.

In Scandinavia the drums of war are also beating heavily on the cold wastes of the north. The Swedes not being content with their minority status in the north embarked on a large scale expansion to the north, hoping to bring riches and fame to their nation. This was a mistake, and a very ignorant call of the Swedish King Björn at Hauge, This was to loose him almost everything. The Danish King Gudfred had been planning a rapid spring offensive catching them off guard. This almost completely shook the Swedish nation. The Danes marched quick and steadfast as they trotted through the Swedish woodland. Pillaging and burning Villages on the way. Small desperate defences had been established by Swedish town militia fighting back. These insignificant events did not have much effect on the Danes, but what these small rebellions had achieved was more time. From the north with full haste came the Battle hardened army of King Björn, though exhausted they were still willing to fight. Summer came and went, and going into winter the Scandinavian people know that they can not keep on fighting through out the winter. As it is they must wait for spring to come.

The Norwegians have remained silent in this new era, and Their King have done nothing to promote his people. This will clearly lead to his demise as his people grows restless.

In central and eastern Europe mistrust and suspicion has lead to a massive defensive complex arise in Slavonic Poland, Avar territory and the Kingdom of Magyar. The fear of being invaded is turning these countries against each other, only time will tell how this dreadful situation might unfold. The only nation that is prospering in Central Europe is Estland growing rich of fishing and trading and supporting the Swedish war effort with arms and food. Truly these people know how to exploit war.

In the Eastern known world… a slumbering giant awakes… from its docile existence it arises and shows the world… That they are not alone! The Kingdom of the Charzars has long been misunderstood as an outcast of Roman society a mere peasant an outcast. But now that the roman society has failed and crumbled under its own weight it is the Charzars time to Shine in the light of glory. These people have the means and the will to do great things! In the years leading up to 816AD the charzars embarked on a series of changes in their infrastructure. They moved their capital to a more central point in their country. This was an immense achievement as it proved to help people and pilgrims alike to fare to this new grand capital. This unprecedented movement of people had not been seen since the sacking of Rome. This choice brought stability and prosperity to their country. Following this mass internal movement the leaders of the Charzars began the expansion of their beloved country, to the north they expanded as far as a few hundred kilometres before the Baltic Sea, the only thing that halted them was light resistance from the local populations and lords. But what eventually halted the Charzars expansion to the north was a brute winter, it came swift and hard and completely immobilized the Charzars advancing forces. To the South how ever it was not wither that stopped the mighty Charzars. Greven il-Vec a newly Prometed Commander was to lead the forces to the south and try to reach the Caspian Sea, but what the new commander did not expect was the competition for the land. The Abbasid Caliphate Also had plans of reaching the Caspian Sea, and the race to the sea began between these two nations. This was a messy affair as small skirmishes began to escalate between small army detachments. The situation now is very unstable between these two countries, but at the moment they are not at the state of war, but very close indeed.

The Abbasid Caliphate it self is one of the most powerful nations in the world, but confusion and instability has led to the demises of the social structure. What this nation needs is true leadership that can be felt through out the lands, Even though the Caliph had an immense amount of income and troops at his disposal it was an utter failure in his attempt to conquer the Persian lands, this mainly due to the Charzars involvement in the Caucasus. What needs to be done is to gain stability and control over the nation, only then can the Abbasid Caliphate arise as a super power of the known world.

The Eastern Roman Empire as remained silent in these times of war, this may be a good call to refrain from conflict, but in these times Leadership is truly needed to bring this nation out of the dark ages and into the bright light of the future.

Servia and Bulgaria have had an unprecedented growth spurt never seen in this region before, after the fall of the Roman Empire these nations have prospered so much. These two nations are one of the biggest threats facing the former Roman Empire and their remnants. These nations need to be handled with care.

King Malcom looked at the edges of his marching column, smiling. They have quickly attacked as subdued a city then redeployed to block of a counter attack. His highlanders of Scotland, Patriots and warriors all of them, are succeeding in their quest.

At the fields of Handel they faced a skirmishing Pictish force. As they rumbled their shields on both sides and chanted battle songs he rode ahead on his chariot. "The Day has come Highlanders! We are to unite all of Alba (Gaelic Speakers, all OTL Scotland) in our struggles. Together, they shall not see us as conquerors but as liberators to the Great Nation of Scotland. Together we will send them crying for mercy! Together we will take what is our and rule our birth right. Do you duty men... Charge!"

As he jumped out and joined his Highlander Warriors (Noble Knights) there was a large bellow as the Scottish lines budged into the Pictish. Arrows unleashed and axes thrown. The lines clashed. The highlander warrios slash through row after row of spearmen. They fell, and more showed up. The scottish numbers of their lines begun to flank the pict lines. Finally after a few dozen minutes they retreated wildly into the forest. Another victory...

He heard the sound of wardrums in the distance. The main force is coming.
