Your stance is unclear on the matter. This is not a crusade. I do not require the Catholic nations to declare war on the king of the Franks, only complete indifference towards the man and his orders. It is the fear from god that should bring the Frank King down to his knees, for god is strong.

His declaration of war and the creation of a false Papacy like the one in the far north, those are different matters. Those are worthy of more than excommunication. I will give him a week before I take matters further than what they are now. May god bless all those who follow his orders.

The Republic of Venice requires clarification too. Whose side are you taking? The Pope's or The False Emperor's (and we don't mean the Byzantines :p)?
 
lol Amon. Stop confusing emperors :p the franks declared themselves empire and their king emperor. The Pope thought never recognized a second emperor other than you. I would call that emperor competition ;)
 
Perhaps if the Pope would embrace the pagan faith, we would be willing to send an army to help a brother out.

A Brief History of Castile
Part One The Name of Castile
717-732 A.D.

Unknown to most people around the world, even to those of Castile, the Name Castile came from a place three brothers used to live in before al-Andalus was taken over by the Islamic faith. The three brothers were; Michael Rashon, Joseph Rashon and Phillip Rashon. They lived in the small town of Rankton. Rankton was small and no major nation had knowledge of it.

The Rashon brothers lived in a street called Castile. Castile was the only way into Rankton by road. The Rashons were very wealthy and were big followers of the Christian faith. The bond between them grew so big that most people believed that they would never leave each other in time of need.
All three of them were 21 by 722. In 722, Islamic attacks raided the land, and the three brother were to leave the land to move to the Italy. But Michael refused. He revealed he had joined the Islamic faith and said he was moving away to join the Umayyad Caliphate. Joseph called Michael a traitor and the three never saw each other again

Ten years later Michael, now Mikaeel al-Rashied, returned to al-Andalus, and was declared guardian of Nothern al-Andalus. According to the history books, Joseph and Phillip were found guilty of murder, so in al-Andalus, guards brought them to Mikaeel. The Caliph sent a message to Mikaeel to have them executed. Mikaeel did so without remorse, and the two brothers were killed. Their heads were hung up in public. After the break up of al-Andalus, Mikaeel automatically declared himself Sultan of Castile. His burial site is by the same location of Rankton.
 
The King of France and Sultan of Castile have recently signed a treaty of peace, ending fears of war between our 2 great countries.

We respect your religion, but not the ways in which you rule. We are tired of your constant autocratic ways. The King of France says he is rightful king. That might or might not be true. We do not care for who sits on the throne. But let it be known from now on Castile is at war with the Pope

We worked together once. Castile is at war with the Pope. No one else. Shall you attack my troops, any friendship that we had will be lost.
 
to the Frank People:
a message from the most holy pope of Rome.

It saddens me this has come to this. It saddens me so. The Frank people are the most powerful in the world. Your strength and faith are great and your kingdom is wondrous. Yet the one at your head, the man wearing the crown of France, is but a fraud. He cares not for god and pity. He only cares for his own personal power. What have the Franks seen from your king other than letters demanding you will join his army?

Your king has done wrong in the kingdom of god. He have refused to aid the holy crusade, he conquered Catholic territories with force. He did everything he can to weaken us, all of us Catholics by creating this gap between him and me. And what kind of faithful king chooses to go against the his holiness?

I have no interest in your wonderful kingdom to collapse, god have commanded me to make sure the Franks and France do not suffer from this... this insanity. Your king have been excommunicated for his crimes against our lord and the pope. He is to be deposed and replaced with a man of true faith, my current choice is the duke of Aquitaine, a man you all know to be great in ruling as he is in faithful service to the holy see. I, the Pope, declared him to become the true king of the Franks, instead of your current king, who is to be deposed and removed from the throne.

I do not wish for war against the excommunicated man. He must beg for forgiveness from god here in Rome, and be reduced, perhaps to a duke in a small Frank territory.

Yet he will not give up his rule so easily, and so I must request your help. The soldiers, the people. The power and choice is in your hands, follow the words of a mere mortal king, or follow the commands of our holy lord in the skies and his Pope in this world.

I also wish to request that you will do the opposite of his aims. Your king allied himself with the Muslims of Iberia, those who have warred with you for ages to take away your lives and souls and now they declared a Jihad on the Holy See itself. Will you let your king destroy our faith?

to the Sultan of Castile:
While I do not see what do you have to do with the maters of the Catholic faith. All I can say is. BRING IT ON HEATHENS. God is with us. Retract your declaration or I will be forced to change my peaceful ways into a new crusade. Also - really, you are declaring war on the leader of the Catholic faith and expect the Catholic nations to stand aside? They would die before the the true ways of the lord as destroyed.

to Venice:
Italy will answer the call for a crusade if one will have to be declared.

Nah. We're not really part of the Italian peninsula, see. Just off of it. And we've had quite enough of war, seeing as our army was just destroyed by the pagans of Byzantium. You guys have fun with the Franks.
 
Wise words...that may be true. It was a mistake to be involved in any war.

I demand tribute! I'm just kidding ;) OOC kinda :p
In truth I never wanted to fight the Muslims of Iberia, for the Pagans who believe in too many gods are far worse, and unfaithful kings who believe they can go around declare themselves gods and emperors are even worse yet. No harm feelings, except of course for the religious harm feelings :p

to Venice:
While I thank you for the offer of protection, I am not interested in the demise of the Frank Kingdom, only the end of their king. For now I wish to ask for the Frank people to do what is right, without outside influence. If they choose their king over their god, than we will enter their lands. For now, stand down and be on the defensive.

ADDON to Franks:
I wish to retract my message about the Iberian Muslims. Even they would not declare war on the holy-see out of honor and understanding of what is simply true, your king is evil. So just refuse to do his bidding, and send him to Rome to beg for god's mercy. The duke of Aquitaine shall be your ruler, I will give him the title, Emperor of All Franks, once you crown him as your king.
