Small Observations General Thread (things not worth separate threads)

In the Feb 2nd Potato McWhiskey interview video, he scrolled through a bunch of civ unlocks. Most of the modern ones weren't shown, but a few of the earlier Age civs were shown that I, at least, didn't know.

Here's the Shawnee one, which was partially obscured by the webcam views, but I deduced by process of elimination:

Ah, that's the only one to have the numeric values as numeric characters instead of in full.

Incidentally, seems a bit odd the loading screen doesn't tell you what the civs ability is?

Mughal UI being the Stepwell again is a seriously dull design choice (it was not even developed by them).

Sepoy with bombardment ability looks interesting, though. I like the gunpowder empire implications here.

Was definitely hoping the Mughals would be, oh, I don't know, Mughals, and not Civ5/6 India.

French unique infantry can do ranged attack too, but this one makes bombardment ranged attack. Maybe Sepoy's attack is more effective to district defenses I guess?

Especially when the Exploration Age cultural victory is literally named "Toshakhana" which is a Mughal concept. The Mughal design could certainly use Toshakhana as a UI or UB, but they stuck to the stepwell for some reason.

The UI not giving enough information is to be expected at this point!

What is even the point of +1 starting population on towns in the Modern? Based on what I’ve seen you will be absolutely swimming in population at this point. It also just once again feels like a rather reductive depiction of India as having a big population.

They have certainly saved the most boring til last. Where’s the elephant UU? The colossal wealth from manufactured goods?

All of the different possible types of Mughal architecture to choose from and they choose the Stepwell, for the Modern Age?
1. Karkhanas-manufacturing house and workshop (for those manufactured resources)
2. Qila-fortress
3. Charbagh-Mughal Garden (Yes, I know it might not look much different than the Pairidaeza of Antiquity Persia, but I'd prefer this to the stepwell).
4. Maqbara-mausoleum (least preferable of these choices but could hold artifacts?)
