I don't know, it seems like there are a ton better ways of dispatching people on a field of battle than punching them in the head with brass knuckles.

It seems to be more of a bloodsport thing than an actual combat weapon. But who cares? Having a Georgian UU deliver a coup de grace via flying punch would be worth it.

So:

LA: Interaction with ages in a unique way.

UA: Probably loyalty/culture based. They have a very unique culture that has lasted despite very different cultural surroundings. Given that culture is the CV defense, I can see that. Plus we don't have any culture civs for R&F yet.

UU: Khevsureti (if we go by the trailer)

UI: Svaneti (fort mixed with yields. Age changes are a possibility, as Eagle suggested

The big question is who to meme into existence next?
Idia of Benin. With Magic as a new yield.
P.S. doesn't have to be the last part.

I was thinking improvement, built on hills with fort defense. Maybe a bonus for adjacent mountain (but that might interfere with the Inca). Maybe different yields based on Dark/Normal/Golden/Heroic ages.
I dislike fort improvements though, they are rarely really useful and can be used by enemy units as well. So I hope you‘re wrong.

Actually, Vlad's rule in Wallachia is a case study in gaining and losing power and dancing between different regional powers on all sides.

Would be a good one to bring in to play once there are vassal / tributary mechanics.

Forts that are contested and fought over should be destroyed when the unit occupying it is destroyed (much like city walls)

You know, something someone said earlier in the thread got me thinking (for Civ7).

Vanilla Launch would include ONLY ancient civs.
DLC in between would bring some dark ages / Fall of Rome civs.
1st Xpac brings us the Medieval to pre-renaissance civs
DLC brings us Renaissance civs
2nd Xpac brings us the colonial civs.

I think this would make it too easy to guess who is coming next which seems to be quite important around here as the forum likes its surprises. By splitting the expansions into hardline eras you could easily rule out any civ based on whether or not their time period was already reached. Also from a marketing perspective this would be suicide as most of the game’s major markets wouldn’t be represented at launch. Lastly if people complain about the late game being boring having no civs with late game advantages at launch would only make that problem worse as everyone scrambles to take an early lead as all the base civs would have UU and U Infrastructure unlocked in the game’s first era.

While this would be cool, there is a gameplay reason for having civs from different eras of history in the game all the time. In theory, some civs will be early bloomers, while some come into their full strength later in the game, making for a more dynamic game. In practice, of course, early advantage tends to be worth a lot more than mid or late game advantage.
