SNESIV: Ad Infinitum II

Dude, this looks AWESOME! I've seen it at Apolyton before I was even resgitered, I think.

ULS (United Lunar States) for me, pleeze. My first orders as President Matt Warlord is to expand my army and airforce.

To UK (GB, that is)
Regarding colonization portions of Phobos.
My techies are looking into the exact working out of such a sharing, but so far things look good.

To USA
I have quite enough petroleum, I'm afraid, but even so, we are working on alternate fuel tpes as hard as we can. Having space colonies is all well and good, but we would like an earth to come home to as well.
Our wheat, however, is up for grabs still. If you can offer me another deal, I'm willing to trade with you.

On another note, Russian colonists are now landing on Daimos as well, as noone seems to have claimed it either.

OOC: SKILORD, every NES has different rules regarding military expansion. I would like to expand my army and airforce, if that's possible. /OOC

I'll join as China.

News:
- A week ago Chinese engineers began construction on yet another monument to chinese greatness: the space elevator, which will be located in geosynchronous orbit over Hsining. Once completed, the elevator will allow for easy transport into orbit. This method is supposed to be much cheaper than the conventional use of rockets and will give the StarReachersPact an advantage in the race for space domination. The Chinese Ministry of Space believes that the elevator will be seeing action in 4 years.
- Yesterday New Nanking was founded on Mercury. The CMS stated that an state-of-the-art laboratory will soon be established. This will help to further explore the sun.
- Wuxing and Lanzhou mining cooperations begin mining in the asteroid belt. Finally China gains access to the nearly infinite riches that will surely boost chinese production.
- The Chinese Space Navy conducted an survey of Jupiter last month to find possible locations for an military outpost. There still has been no offical statement regarding this expedition.

Chinese Deployment:
1/3 of Space Navy protects the mining operations
1/3 of Space Navy in orbit over China
1/3 of Space Navy surveying Jupiter
Army & Navy & AirForce protect China.

(OOC: Does everybody already own one space station in orbit?)

Everyone except for memebers of the SRP. They have 1 communal one.

To Russians:

I hear you are working on alternate fuel types. The Democratic Fourth Reich is also working on such a project and we are having great success with liquid Oxygen.

New Deutchland: 1 Year

The Falke fighters have discovered an insanely huge amout of metals in the Asteroids, we feel that the new metalsmight be stronger than earth metals

CNN news reports:

News of the Venus colonization is just in:
A colony of five square miles has been established, and America claimes all of one fourth of the planet as theirs. A new liquid substance has been found in lakes and ponds in the area, and has the potential for being an alternate fuel source. Scientists are studying it as you read this report.

News on the asteroid expainsion:
American asteronauts have indeed found a metal source on five, city-size asteroids, and has established the claims for the U.S. The metal called Antimantium iis being harnassed now.

News on the Spacestation over Venus:
The Venus space station as recently been cancelled. In it's place in orbit is being built a huge spaceship, 1,000 yards wide and across (I will post a picture when finished). This is guessed to be completed in the near future.

As for America's science research (we can only be researching one technology at a time, right skilord?), we are researching the alternate fuel, soon to be done.

To: Russia
From: America

I believe you misunderstood my propsol. My request is for your petroleum, and in return I will send Wheat. But since you say you have ample wheate supplies, I can throw in some cotton? Please respond.

Orders:
More ground forces ordered to the colony on Mars, in case of citizen uprise.

To:Germany

What do you think of a joint operation against the Martians?

Orders:While the "Marseille" is on its way to Mars with 1/4 of the fleet the other 3/4 are split into three parts:

1st Fleet with "Lyon" stays in orbit above France
2nd Fleet with "Bordeaux" protects moon colonies
3rd Fleet with "Caen" begins journey to asteroid belt with 15% of army on board;after bases on important asteroids are established fleet heads towards Jupiter and its moons

OOC: Skilord, does the humans in this time have high enough technology to to establish colonies on a gas planet (like jupiter?) or on a sun-like planet (like mercury)? It seems like they would have to research something first?

OOC: Just to be a real b*tch, but placing a colony on Venus at this point in time isn't really viable either...
I've understood that Jason's is in Space above, am I right?
But landing is insane. The longest a probe on Venus has lasted was about 10 minutes. It was then promptly crushed, burnt and evaporated by the planet's atmosphere. Venus may be our sister planet, but she sure is one bad motha of a wicked step-sister, really! I wouldn't say it's physically or ethically possible to try and build a colony on the planet. The colonists' chances of survival (at least without research) would probably be one notch above zero...
Oh, and BTW, there's plenty of water on Venus. Only problem is, it's *ALL* stuck in the atmosphere, causing insane amounts of pressure. Venus is, quite literally, a preview of hell. It rains acid there too. I'm afraid you won't be finding a lot of lakes and pools of anything on the surface of that world...

ANd then, on with the show!

To USA.
I'm sorry. It looks like I really did make a mistake when reading your letter. I'd be happy to trade cotton for my petroleum.

As for America's science research (we can only be researching one technology at a time, right skilord?), we are researching the alternate fuel, soon to be done.

Indeed. 1 tech at a time and 2 build projects (ie the space station)

French science minister today announced the "Academie scientifique" has recently begun the Jupiter project, which is suspected to take 3 years.
In addition to the current build up of the sea navy begun in 2098 the Marseille and its crew begin constructing the space station "Charles DeGaulle" in Mars orbit;both projects will take 3 years as well.

To:Martians
From:France

Now that the Charles DeGaulle is constructed in orbit and many French soldiers and planes have arrived on Mars I inform you of our plans to expand southwards towards the Russian bases.I suggest you begin to evacuate your people because I believe Humans and Martians can not live in peace together.

we do not like this, but we shal do what you say for now.

to: USA
from: martians
subject: weapons

greetings my human friends,we come in peace!
but we need weapons to protect
ourselves,if we get weapons from you
we can protect you also.

PS.we have resorses you dont have.

OOC: You're completely right, Jason. Completely right. In fact, Mercury is probably harder. (Sure it has polar caps. Only trouble is, they're frozen acid!)
