China, SpaceElevatorProject (2 years left)
CMS officials annouced that everything goes according to plan and that the elevator is already 50% operational. Though it seemed for a while that the asteroid would break out of orbit, the CMS states the situation is under full control now and that such a thing could never happen again. The elevator will be online in one year but the asteroid station would still have to be finished.
China, Chinese Ministry of Research and Development (1 year left)
Chinese scientists announced today that they have successfully created a new alloy, tritanium. Metals from the asteroid belt were altered on a molecular level and finally led to this achievment. The CMRD admitted that it will take another year until the alloy hits mass production though.

With the recent aggressive answers to chinese policy the CMS sees the need to expand its Space Navy. In order to achieve this goal, it has been decided that a ShipYard will be constructed in the vicinity of the soon to be completed SpaceElevator.

Wuxing and Lanzhou mining cooperations have moved their headquarters to the SRP One and annouced that they have increased their output by 120% and 150% respectivley. The amount of mines in the asteroid belt has doubled since 2100 and is expected to grow even more in the coming year.

Finally phase one of the Mercury project has been completed. The colony is now 100% self-sufficient and the observatory is online as well. Currently 10,000 colonists from SRP states live there while the colony itself is under chinese administration. The scientific community expects to profit greatly from the labs on Mercury, as every earth nation is invited to make use of the facilities. Yet, it still remains unknown when phase two, which includes a major expansion of the colony and the relocation of more than 100,000 colonists, is about to begin.

No news have reached us from the prohibited zone as the Space Navy won't let any ships pass. But it seems that they stumbled upon something there, for the CSM has been hiring many archeologists lately.

Despite the resistance by France Chinese rifles and instructors have finally arrived on Mars and training of the Martian army has begun.
