Appearance matter. Greg and his friend were so casual I felt they were about to pull an Al bundy. And you didnt even show up regardless of the 100s of requests in the chat to see your boobs :) A quality production would have thrown in a girl ala Sigourney Weaver in Galaxy Quest.

We work in video games! It's all top hats and monocles round these parts when we aren't on a stream. We just didn't want you guys to know.

Also I popped in at the end - you clearly didn't watch the whole show!

  3. I think it made for a more comfortable presentation. If Ev watched I call that a win.

Seriously! Greg was dressed up pretty fancy for a game company.

A lack of caring about "formal' clothes is actually why the US' west coast is better at software than its more uptight east coast. ;)

Good job on the demo guys, it must have been tough to try to address the massive quantity of questions and requests thrown your way and still make everyone happy.

Though now that you've given us a taste, I'm afraid you have no choice but to have a station broadcasting someone playing Civ5 for the week+ remaining until release.

But, we're not ogres: we'll allow you to do it tag-team style in shifts, and you can turn the webcam off so you don't have to feel like you're "on" the entire time. ;)

I watched all the way to the end, and I didn't see you give us a show.

    Oh, you meant....

    Well I still didn't see you >.>

Evrett. Why are you going out of your way to attack the *dress* of 2K employees? Wasn't your fake protest enough?
No? What about the repeated conspiracy allegations? The blatantly false accusations? The Alt-account reposting of closed/deleted threads? Why do you need to go out of your way to attempt to smear 2K in everything that you post?

Yea, after all a stream on a computer is "on TV".

I like reading your posts though Eve. :crazyeye:

It is one easy "point" to win in my proof to show these people arnt worthy to represent this community. I live in florida - 100% humidity tanktop and shorts weather most of of time..But even people here wear jeans and a shirt with a collar at work..let alone when they are addressing 100s of people representing their company. Its embarrassing. And that doesnt even begin with them not knowing what build they were playing on. I could go on and on...we deserve better.

I hope you're kidding. If not...oy. Thanks for the giggle either way. I can't believe anybody is commenting on how these folks were dressed. It has zero relevance to the content involved.

    Ok, maybe you're not kidding...wow.

I'm a programmer and work for a successful company in town with about 1000 employees. I wear, and have always worn shorts, t-shirts, and sandals to work for 8 years and running. I assure you I'm a professional. What you're wearning has nothing to do with your capacity to be a professional and it's ridiculous to think people should dress the way YOU think. I'm all about being comfortable - that's how I'm most effective. Results is what matters, not posing.

During the stream the graphics looked pretty weak to me in general - weaker than in most good quality screenshots. I think it was the video feed or number of users on the stream. I just loaded up the recordings and things look better.

I was concerned for a bit, at the AI not being able to force the choke, but after I went back and looked at the video more, there wasn't much it could DO, until it got artillery (by which point you'll notice it started to gain the upper hand).

Embarking in the Med would just get transports bombarded and make them easy prey on landing. They did NOT appear to have a city on the Med to produce an escort vessel. The French "NW" city revealed near the end of the video was not on the Med.

The only thing I think as a human you could have done in that situation was maybe put a frigate (if they had the tech, who knows if France had touched the naval branch that far) into the Suez to bombard out the gatekeeper-trebuchet. But even that would have been vulnerable to counter battery fire, you'd need 2 realistically to get the job done. So yeah, it COULD have forced it, but then, given their relative positions, it didn't NEED to. You're an era to an era-and-a-half ahead. You let the piddly african natives have their choke, while you power to the victory condition of your choice, or an even greater tech lead.

I know I've been laughing. It's good for the community to have some comic relief.

Glad you guys took the time to do it. That was much cooler than I was expecting (even with Murphy's Law hitting you when you switched saves).
