Something you wish you were physically capable of

What something or some things you wish you could do but can't because they are physically impossible for you?

I wish I could dunk a basketball on a nba height hoop (10 feet). But I can't, no matter how good of shape I could ever get in, I'm 5'7" with short arms and will never physically be capable of jumping that high. Sure spud webb and nate robinson can dunk and are around my height but they are physical freaks who jump like giant fleas.

I also wish I could drink lots of coffee. I'm addicted to caffeine, not copious amounts, like 200 mg a day which would be two cups of coffee or around four diet cokes. But coffee is too acidic for me, it gives me acid re-flux and indigestion, so I usually drink diet soda or energy drinks. I wish I could just drink black coffee though because I do love the taste, it's much cheaper if you make it yourself from bulk grind (not insanely prices $1 kcups) and healthier for you. I still think diet soda is better for you than regular, as research is still fuzzy at best, but it's certainly not what I'd consider healthy, while I would consider a cup or two of black coffee healthy. Sadly, a single cup once or twice a week is all my body can handle.

Oh and if I could not be tired off 3-4 hours of sleep a night that would be amazing too. I can function on like 5-6 for a week but then have to revert to 7-8 or I get major headaches and grumpy.

I wish I could fly at relativistic speeds

Travelling in trains and buses would be easier for me If I was 5'4'' instead of 6'3''.

Planes. Cars. 5'4" might be going too far, but somewhere in the normal range, like an even six feet should do it. When I was in the car business I had an ergonomics engineer tell me flat out "Yeah, we don't consider you at all in the design because you fall outside the range that contains 95% of the customers."

If I wanted to improve a physical capability it would have to be balance. I trained up my stationary balance through yoga, but my moving balance isn't good enough to be trustworthy. Hiking ridge lines is a lot less comfortable than it should be, and I can't ski or surf or even ride a skateboard like I want. I just saw a guy on a heavyweight drone/hoverboard that I would really like to try but I wouldn't feel safe at all on it.

Being able to use a pencil for 8 hours straight without pain or exhaustion would be amazing.

Hmm more seriously I wish I could blow smoke rings.

Ha ! I can do that. Just not more than two days in a row.

If we don't count any magical nonsense like flight, I want to be able deal better with sleep deprivation. The times when I could stay awake for over 30 hours and still be coherent and somewhat productive are over, and I'd like to be better at it than I was even in my early twenties.

I would probably have less problems with it as well, if I stopped spending most of my free time and a lot of the time in my job sitting in front of a pc, typing on a keyboard. (;

I'd like to have a greatly extended lifespan, with much slower ageing and practical immunity to disease. I'm good with not having classical super-powers (and even with being a bit of a weed), as long as I can live for a great length of time, without needing to worry about old age and its associated issues.

More mundanely, I'd settle for being able to function on little sleep and not having a low pain threshhold.

Being small has definite advantages. For one thing I'm chubby and still fit fine into all seats cus they're designed for average size people. When you're 5'7" and overweight you're still about the width of an average sized 6 foot tall person. Also shorter people live longer though I'm sure my overweightness is balancing that out. I can find clothes that fit me at normal stores except for pants, they are always too long. Still it would be nice to reach stuff on the top shelves of my cabinets without needing a stool. I have very high kitchen cabinets, like 7 feet tall.

I think it's mostly a function of age for me. I eat healthier, exercise more and I'm generally in better shape now than when I was younger. I just need more sleep.
It's also possible that I've built up a high caffeine tolerance over the years.
That reminds me, I also wish I had the discipline/fortitude to go cold turkey on caffeine for a week or two.

People like to say, "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," but I like to respond, "then wait until you're as skinny as me," because wearing a belt every day for nearly 30 years is not particularly fun when you consider why.

You should wish for a better physical resistance about the sitting in front of a PC :p

I would like to be a man for a day and see what it's like.

On a less metaphysical level, I wish I could lucid dream.

Hmm, being a woman for a short while would be interesting , but I don't know if a day would be enough. Maybe two days a week for a couple of months...

I can do that sometimes. The trick is to be on the lookout for signs that you're dreaming. Small changes that occur outside your field of "vision" in the dream world.
The most reliable indicator for me are written words. If there is a book, a newspaper or a sign somewhere I Iook away and then look at it again. The words are different every time I read them and I immediately know that it is a dream.

I feel ya. Just lost some weight and undoing and doing my belt for 2 weeks straight before I bought new pairs of jeans got annoying pretty fast.

On the other hand, can't you go to a tailor to get something made for you?

If money was no object, Dusters, I'd certainly consider it. I also have long, narrow, flat feet, so being wealthy enough to afford bespoke clothing and shoes would be nice (but much lower down on the titular list).

Raise one eyebrow.
