SonIOT I: For All the Marbles

Edited orders

Somalia has heard concerns about it's expansion in Yemen and Egypt. We will retract our 3 claims in Yemen but we do not want to give up the single province in Egypt. We will refrain from future expansion in Egypt, however

This is... acceptable.

King Luther looked out over the tribe. There are so many people. Never in the history of Motherland has a tribe grown so large and prosperous. Though his father had conquered all the tribes on the coast he was the one who cemented their reign. Soon after his father's death many of the northern tribes had tried to break free from Fehlrend. With an iron fist Luther and his men fell upon the rebels and killed every one without mercy. Now it was time to extend his domain. He looked to the northern coast.

The tribes in the north were disorganized and warlike, always raiding and pillaging the richest among them. Luther gathered the best warriors of the 6 tribes of Fehlrend and traveled north. "May the gods bring us glory this day!" the king yelled charging into battle. His campaign was fast and it had to be. They couldn't easily carry provisions for a long campaign. They lived off the land they were on, and never slept in the same place twice. After five months the tribes of the northern coast were defeated and they were on their way home.

King Luther the Iron King, as he was called was hailed a hero. He couldn't stay home long because soon after returning home word arrived of tribes from the south that they were being raided by mountain tribes. He quickly headed south, crushing the raiders and bringing more land into the growing empire.

With this large empire came problems. How can he ensure the tribes stay together after his death? To speed up travel he had a fleet of 200 galleys built that could transport his armies anywhere in the coastal empire. Will this be enough to hold the empire together? It would do, but only a true revolutionary would be able to solve the many problems of the young empire that stretched long and thin along the coast of Motherland.

Ok. Quebec and arya just started this turn. Why do they have 1000 provinces?

^ Hey, hold on a sec. He's right.

Their starting claims. They're are using their 33LP to claim.

That's dumb. I should conquer them out of principle.

Aegon stood on the shore of the Red Sea, outside the port of Saltshore. In his hand, he held a strange device. It was a weapon he had never seen before, one made of a cool, shining substance. It also could cut a man in half and was lighter than any weapon made of stone. A sword, it was called. The Egyptians in the southern Nile region had been using them against the Targaryen soldiers, and to deadly effect. More common were axes and spears made with the new material, and in the case of tribal leaders, even armor.

Aegon would have his smartest men examine the sword, and send them captives to interrogate. The Targaryens would have to unlock the mysteries of this metal, and where it came from, if he was to continue the conquest of Egypt. Baelerion could melt this metal, to the exasperation of a native chieftain, which Aegon considered a step in the right direction to finding out how to replicate swords. Perhaps a wood fire could do the same, and the metal would be able to be reshaped into other things… like a crown.

The king inspected the weapon more closely. Its sides were chipped and the thing itself was flimsy. Aegon could tell it was poor work, despite having seen few others. His own men would do a better job than this, he thought. However, there was no use in worrying about it now. The sword could still kill a man in more than one way, and it seemed that was all that truly mattered in the ways of war. Imperfections could be worked out after the conquest. What he needed now was blades: The tribes had halted his advance. If Aegon could not get his own swords, he might even need to ask his sisters for help. Currently, they were out in foreign lands, seeking new ports. Apparently, the last year they had found one in the northwest, so he would send gold to start a proper colony. Currently they had taken to reexploring the north: Maybe they would find something this time, who would know?

Aegon sighed and put the blade down on the sand. There were simply too many mysteries in this world. He had made it his goal to seek them out and use them to strengthen his nation. Aegon certainly knew that he could not find everything, short as life was, but he had to try. His descendants would carry on his work. House Targaryen had to live on, or this empire would not. They were all that stood between chaos and every man, woman, and child at Dragonstone, at King’s Landing, at Driftmark, and at Saltshore. His people depended on him for their very lives, and he would not let some stupid tribesmen who merely had better weapons be the death of him and his legacy, his empire!

Aegon pondered for a moment. Descendents… perhaps he would need his sisters after all.

Yep, no expansion in Egypt today. I won't expand any more on the Libyan coast, so Basques need not worry.

Wait a minute, Double AA is a major major power in an IOT? It's turn five and he hasn't been invaded by all his neighbors yet!

AND he's building two cities AND a trade center?

This IS a weird IOT. *lol*

AND I have Egypt.

Considering this is most likely an alternate universe, I think I'm going to go spend all my money on chocolate, eat it, and then wait for DC to bring everything back to normal like they always do.

Wouldn't it be awesome if I could somehow shoehorn this game to being somehow a sequel to RIOT?

That wouldn't explain why people are rationally and calmly talking out claims disputes as opposed to starting a gigantic, pointless war which divides the war into camp.

Considering we're starting in the Stone Age (and I'm not exactly sure how much that has sunk in with other people), that would be a bit... much.

And he still can't afford it.

Would it be appropriate to quote my orders and then post a YouTube video of Dick Dastardly laughing maniacally?
