Sons of Mars III - Trollish Echidnas Not Included

The German Republic offers a defensive alliance to France

We agree. Also you dont need to join the war with Rome.

Angola better stays netural in this war. This war has nothing to do with you, so stay out of it. And roman forts will fall.

Don't worry, we won't meddle until it conveinces us you step foot into our SoI. :mischief:

Dont worry. I dont want anything in africa. ( Althought i could take a part of North africa and give you some EP's every turn for this. But i havent decided yet.)

Franco-Roman War

Today, a massive explosion rocked Strasbourg. Fortunately, no one was disturbed by it - they were all vaporised before they even knew it was happening.

It is the first recorded detonation of the "province buster" weapons in a war. The pro-Roman insurgency has claimed responsibility, demanding France sign a white peace with Rome or face another bombing.

As Rome had spent all its funds, it is unknown who gave the militants the weapon.

~130,000 people have been killed as a result of the bomb's detonation.

More concerning, the bomb took out one of the French forts. (And since only nations at peace can reposition/gain new forts...)

Alsace will be unclaimable until next turn.

Rome digs in - a storm is coming.

The French order all but 4 of their European force against the Roman forts!

2-14.

France is left with only 19 armies, most of them stuck in the province they took. If Rome can reach France, it could turn the tide of the war.

Not really having anything to lose, the Roman army counterattacks. All forces descend upon a fort first.

Rome now pushes against a border province, unguarded by a fort.

Rome captures it.

With 23 armies, an attack on the French Swiss fort begins.

8 4

Rome celebrates! With 22 spare armies, the inevitable happens. 12 provinces fall with no fight.

That leaves 10 armies. They assault another French fort, this one leading into Iberia.

4 4

With the narrow 1.5 multiplier almost sealing defeat, the Romans take another fort.

4 provinces fall without a fight.

Rome leaves 4 armies spare to man the forts and defenses of Italy.

The result is Rome, at 32 provinces, 30 armies and 53 Industry, having infiltrated much of the French Empire. France, at 45 provinces, 38 Industry, and 19 armies, is also in a strong position.

The good news? Rome can now trade.

The bad news? It hasn't bothered to make partners. But it will have to - France's enormous trade revenues will outdo it. And Omega himself will have to cut the deals, since automated trade is a no no...

Edit double post WRYYY

Can we has map?

One Vision declares an embargo on Rome.
We lift our embargo on France.

I'll probably never have to worry about this cause I get my orders in fast, but if I don't:

When I'm attacked, only automate half of my income if I haven't sent orders in already. I want to have more options after the invasion.

Omega: Stop complaining, that was a killer counter-offensive.

I echo this.

Same here.

As you wish.

I'm automating Britain, so now, we're just waiting on Greece/Double A...

...who has posted numerous times post-update. I really should consider that rule, shouldn't I!

Likely will come close to vaporising Rome unless he's feeling charitable.

You could do what the great Sonereal does. 50% orders in? Cue 24 hour countdown!

Meanwhile. lol@Roman salient in Iberia.

What the duce?!

At least it's not a territory that looks like Abraham Lincoln riding a vacuum cleaner :p.

This war is honestly the most interesting one I've seen on here yet.

Soo, umm. When is Mathalamus going to pop in and everyone nukes him for the LOLZ?

Looks like I was right - the French were slaughtered trying to take the Roman forts. :p

Official Statement from One Vision

In light of the recent bombing in France, One Vision has labeled the Roman Insurgency a terrorist organization under Visioneer Common Law. As such, if there is another Roman Insurgent Bombing, One Vision will enforce a blockade on all Roman ports. It is prudent that the international community takes a firm stance against the Roman insurgents and their backers.
