Sons of Monarchy Bullpen

Fractal are a awesome mapscript.
Only problem is that they can sometime become ridiciously imbalanced when it comes to available land.

When someone is modding the map, they can check for this and possibly reject the map.
Balanced fractal games is a wonderfull asset of forum games imo. :)

I agree with vranasm on low sea levels. I don't really like having to settle a bazzilion cities and manage them all.

I'm not at all opposed to play low sea though, it's just not my personal preference.

Just to clarify my reasoning for my map suggestion - I'm thinking that the increased movement rate for a Fast Worker will be able to better take advantage of more land afforded by low sea level than the usual workers used by AI civs. And Asoka is Organised which is a good trait for managing large empires. Tropical is a no-brainer really - its the most worker-intensive map type.

What I was trying to come up with was a map type that works well with the Indian UU and Asoka's traits but is also a challenge. I agree that low sea levels mean more cities for everybody and therefore more Micro and when the UU is a worker then you'll be doing a lot of micro anyway so maybe adding a couple of extra civs would alleviate that?

Giant Wolfman on SOM Tokugawa thread
Look for Round IX - Asoka - next week sometime. I haven't made the map yet though, so I will happily take any suggestions for map type (except archipelago/islands---no way am I wasting fast workers on those map scripts ;))

Archipelago :)

:lmao:

more jungles less dangerous AI's...

Round IX: Asoka of India is up.
Sorry this one took a while. I got indecisive on the map, and it got pushed back further as I prefer to not overlap too much with NC or IU if I can avoid it.

I'm leaning towards a Terra map for Huayna Capac. We did a Terra map for the Rome round, but most people just praet stomped the old world, and it was long enough ago that I'm not worried about it. Thoughts?

Thanks for this great series! I have been playing Civ4 when it came out. Always at Noble/prince. I found this tread 2 months ago and started playing again. So far I have finished playing MS round 1, SOM round X, IX, VIII and round VII and now I am playing SOM round VI. I really like the maps and to see how other players are doing.

So my CIV computer seems to be having some issues. I had been hoping to fix it this weekend but have had no luck thus far. If someone else wants to guest host this round (George Washington), please volunteer and go ahead so we can keep this going.

I can get a map up today. I will wait a hour or two so if anyone wants to give suggestions on map type please feel free!

Edit: My apologizes, RL situation hit that I must attend to. :( I could get the map up tomorrow, or if someone else wants to today be my guest.

I could throw a map up in the morning when I get to work. If no one has by then I'll do it. Around 9:00 eastern

SHowed up at work expecting a not-so-hectic day...and well, it's hectic. Hopefully Klono can get a map up.

Thanks for getting this up klono. I managed to get my computer looked at, so I will be able to get the next round up. Got something planned already, so look for it around, oh I don't know, December 21st :mischief:
