No, but we lost the spy, thats why I started 2 new ones.

For the raised point: there is a cottage near Happytowne on dyes because we have some dyes anyways up there and plantations don't come for a while.
I tried to steal calendar, which freddy had for a while, I even had 2 workers ready near the dye the turn I tried to steal it for a plantation ;) but You are right we have dyes in the north and enough happy atm, maybe we should keep it now

anectdotal - better chance of stealing in non-capital. I forget why. then again, I may be nuts.
I dont know how to get better chances, but its cheaper the nearer the city is, I tried it in Hamburg
But I wondered, shouldn´t we get a 20% discount for open borders?
If we were Confucian, we would get another discount f.e.

Partial report, finish with pictures in 4-5 hours.

T128, the inherited turn. I spend the usual unhealthy amount of time staring at the screen. I MM Cretin to stop growing as it will grow unhealthy (like certain molds) in 3. Sword production drops from 5 to 3 turns. Sea View stops working the jumbo and employs a spy specialist (forgot to note zactly why I did that).

T130, CS finishes. 60g and CoL buys construction from Pericles. Start on the road to maces with MC. Drop beakers to 40% (+10g). Revolt to Bureaucracy.

T132, Trade Rice to Freddie for banana (health issues, don't ya know). This is a moderately idiotic move in light of what follows. I slow down growth in the Idiot Academy to starting cranking military. The bananas allow me to turn growth back on in Cretin. A spy gets to Frankfurt, has a bratwurst and and a pilsner and then steals Calender (maybe I should done that before making the rice/banana trade?). NOTE TO IGOR - CANCEL DEAL WITH FRED IN TEN.

T135, Hanno (GM) born in Athens.

T136, catch a foreign interloper near Happytowne.

T137, Rembrandt (GA) born in Delhi. (Rueben sandwich, anyone? sorry for the awful pun.)

T140, MC finishes, start Machinery. I have not started any forges as we do not need the production or happy gas. Please note we will have all three forges happy gas resources (gold, silver, gems) shortly.

I have four more turns to play. I will screenie upon completion. Suffice to say the military has grown a bit and the honor may fall to B to declare upon Freddie. :drool:

I need to thunk about getting a settler to the silver/fish city.

BTW, health is not an issue at the present.

Another thing to thunk on is whether to take Berlin or Hamburg first. the problem is Freddie has hooked up iron in cologne

IIRC, I turned vassels off.
 
3:) forges are yummy. I'd build them soon, if only for the shields.
 
T141, weight all EP to Freddie.

T142, gandhi wants to cancel gems for clams. Renegotiate iron for gems. Cancel open borders with fred. Send a vulture to Scythia to keep an eye on a sword Fred has wandering up there. Whip a duct in happytowne.

T143, Start Hanging gardens in happytowne for the hell of it. other places are making military. Drop research to zero to gear up the coming war.

T144, Start settler in GreatIdiot Farm to go settle the silver.

T145, go a turn long to round out where we should be. upgrade warrior in sea views for defense purposes.

I'd like to keep all conquered german cities, even though some are misplaced.

I think it's got to be unleashed on Bizzie as soon as the deal is over.

IMO the proposed war route looks solid... My inclination would be to revolt the capital as it will likely have the most defenders/culture/ninjas/etc.

Does the quoted costs of spying there include the spy being on site for a few turns? I'd park 2-3 in Berlin just to be on the safe side.

The only thing I'd try to add before the deal expires is perhaps one or two more spears. Although the swords can probably soak a few chariots pretty easily?

Oh - and have fun with that - looks like an amusing turnset. :)
 
Swords would do good but that's not they they're there so a spear it is.
 
Check, but IIRC, the rice/banana deal was cancelled at the same time as the open borders. The invasion path I suggested was to deprive Fred of his horses. B's going to see lots of axes, not chariots. IIRC, there are some stray warriors around that can be upgraded to spears if the need arises.

Frankfurt ain't perfect, but we probably should keep it.

Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, then cease fire to regroup? throwing it out there for discussion. By all means, if things go well, kill 'em if you can.

Alright, I took very good notes and pictures of about 1/3 of my turns and forgot that altogether during the rest, but the picture speaks for itself I believe:

It says we need forbidden palace and ziggurats - bad.

It also says that ze germans got zestroyed. We have a CR3 mace in the field and no one has CS. I asy we take 10, regroup, grab Feudalism for vassal states and make him capitulate.

I revolted to Caste and Organized religion: we need forges and zigs everywhere and this will speed it up.

I got some bad spy luck in the war, 3 out of 4 got stumbled upon and the one time I manage to try a mission, it fails.

We got minimal losses during the war though: most of his core for 2 cats 3 vultures or something like that. GSpy built the yard in our capital.

Can't find my autolog ... maybe I needed to turn it on or something, I was counting on that.

I left the pyramids as a build in the capital ... not sure it's wise though. No shields invested, would be a nice wonder but we don't really need it.

Nice :hammer: of the pesky germans, Beorn. With the Admiral´s army You smashed them badly. Nice to see their core cities are under our control now. But I dont think making them our vassal would do any good. If we need a war break, ok, but we should either capture or raze them completely afterwards.

Wouldn´t Slavery and Org religion let us build this things faster? :whipped:

Must admit I've not really taken vassals very often. Would he bring anything good to the table for us? Would he get in the way of our going after Greece? If it's a yes and a no respectively, then I'd be up for giving it a try!

Either way, I think holding back and getting more spies on him may be good? We have EPs stacked up on him and might as well get the benefit from them?

We did decline pyramids, there are 0 shields invested as it stands.

Caste was for workshops, with guilds eventually they'll be even better tiles.

We can wander thru a vassal's territory at will, vassal can't wander through ours unless we sign open borders.

Not sure from the screenie, but isn't cologne the holy city for taoism? Is it time to devote a city to missionary building?

How does Berlin look for the FP?
 
Cologne is holy, my first target for FP would be more central than Berlin, Berlin is on the coast.
